The Lyndhurst Board of Commissioners proposed that certain driveway construction, construction of sheds and above-ground, seasonal pools now require permits.

Under the pending ordinance, scheduled for a public hearing on Aug. 27, residents must apply to the construction department for a permit to construct a "seasonal type in-ground or above-ground swimming or bathing pool". In-ground pools would carry a fee of $150 and above-ground pools would carry a $100 fee. Zoning permits are required for fence installation except for pool fencing, which would be included in the pool application.

"Shed" was added to the listed accessory uses in residential districts, included with such other uses as garden house, tool house and playhouse. A zoning permit is required for the local and construction of all sheds, subject to additional requirements. Those with an area under 100 square feet and are 10 feet or less in height would require more information to the township indicating how its anchored to the ground. Sheds larger than that but not exceeding 200 square feet must have documentation submitted indicating that they are "dimensionally stable" and require a floor system connected to the walls, which may call for a construction permit along with the zoning permit. Sheds over 200 square feet and not exceeding 10 feet in height would require a complete foundation and a construction permit, the proposed measure reads. A minimum $75 fee would be applied for private sheds under 100 square feet.

Applications would be required for all new or replacement driveways and curb cubs in all zoning districts. Fees would be $35 each for curb cuts and driveway aprons.
