Waco, Texas (PRWEB) February 25, 2014
The statistics behind successful new years resolutions can be discouraging and downright depressing. According to the Journal of Clinical Psychology, only eight percent of Americans who resolve to make a change stick with the resolution throughout the full year.
There are several reasons for the dismal success rate, three of which are most prevalent: the resolutions lack structure, the resolutions were made at midnight on January first, or the resolution goals are based in fantasy, not reality, thus are unattainable.
At Mr. Appliance, February marks a great time to re-evaluate the resolutions set and either repair those which are lacking or jump-start the ones that were left to wither and die away. These five easy, actionable tips will help even the most lifeless resolution, discarded by its owner, perk with new life and ambition. Apply these repairs to any resolution and beat the odds.
1.Create resolutions that rely on attainable, intermittent goals. Place time-markers so that each resolution has mini-goals to reach throughout the year. Example: Lose weight is a resolution. Lose one pound each week is an attainable, intermittent goal that can be measured and help keep motivation high.
2.Choose resolutions that are based on realistic expectations. If lofty goals are set, it can be intimidating and easier to give up. Example Being cast as a Broadway dancer may be the resolution. However, this could be considered unrealistic for someone who only has Jazzercize as dance experience. Not impossible, but somewhat unrealistic. Instead, concentrate on the small steps that will help to meet the larger goal.
3.Drop the negative self-talk. Everyone fails, it is a part of the journey. The difference between those who reach their goals and those who dont is the successful turn failures into lessons and motivation. When knocked down, dust off, stand up and keep moving forward.
4.Resolutions made on the spot are often not well thought out. Every resolution has to have a sturdy plan to support it. Otherwise, failure is inevitable.
5.For resolutions that are dead on the vine, try coming up with a smaller, more attainable goal to serve as a stepping stone to reach the larger resolution objective. For example instead of planning to go from couch potato to working out five days a week, make a commitment to working out one day a week for two weeks. Then, add in an additional day, as it becomes a permanent part of your routine.
Making changes in life is a daunting task otherwise, everyone would be thin, healthy, smoke-free, stress-free, and perfect in every way. Take these tips and start making changes through small, manageable steps to repair and maintain 2014 resolutions.

Juan Pablo Galavis
The word is out about Bachelor star Juan Pablo Galavis in upstate New York.
In the second of four ads for Rochester Appliance, it seems news that the reality TV star is working at the local store has spread, with customers quickly booking in-home repair appointments with the bachelor.
In the commercial that debuted online and aired locally Monday night, a man answers the phone at Rochester Appliance and after telling what sounds like an eager customer that he's not Galavis, he makes the in-home repair appointment with the Bachelor star requested by the customer. After he hangs up the phone, he hands Galavis a form, saying, "another in-home repair for you." Galavis then adds the form to a tall stack of paper.

Galavis filmed four spots for the store, which are set to roll out during the final episodes of The Bachelor. The first commercial aired last week. The remaining two ads will air locally during the last two weeks of The Bachelor, with additional content set to be posted on store owner Dean Eaton's blog.
Eaton recruited Galavis for the ads through his brother-in-law, who played soccer with theBachelor star in college and has stayed friends with him since then. The store owner thought Galavis being on the ABC reality show offered a perfect opportunity to generate business.

LOWER HEIDELBERG TWP., Pa. -
Fire officials said it could take weeks to determine the cause of a massive fire that leveled an apartment building under construction in Berks County early Tuesday morning.
The flames erupted around 3:30 a.m. at the Legacy at the Papermill apartment complex, an over-55 community in the area of Calming Drive and Legacy Boulevard in Lower Heidelberg Township, according to emergency officials.
The 3-story building, consisting of just plywood and studs, burned to the ground, said fire officials.
"I had never seen anything like that before it was an inferno," said Ray Bickley, whose nearby home was damaged by heat alone. "The glass pane of the window was popping because of the heat."
His home's vinyl siding also melted.
More intense damage was faced by the apartment complex beside the blaze. There, officials said three families needed to be temporarily evacuated.
"They just stayed in some ambulances to stay warm until they were able to get back into their apartment," said Chief Thomas Deiterich, Lower Heidelberg Twp. Police Dept.
Fortunately, Deiterich said no one was injured, including firefighters among the 12 departments that were called to the scene.
As of Tuesday afternoon, a cause and origin were unknown. Officials said the fire was under active investigation by a state police fire marshal.

Right at Home: Bold balconies and peppy patios are a sign of spring
Earthy hues that blend into the landscape tend to dominate the outdoor furniture market. Understated woods, metals and cushions are easy-to-incorporate neutral elements.
But outdoor spaces also offer the chance to be more adventurous than we are inclined to be indoors.
Maybe bolder balconies and peppier patios on your redecorating radar?
"Vibrant colour has dominated the home furnishings arena since last fall, and after an unusually cold winter, the time's ripe for bright colour to become a focus for our outdoor spaces. Color is a great energizer," says Jackie Hirchhault, marketing vice-president for the American Home Furnishings Alliance, based in High Point, N.C.
Aimee Beatty, in-house stylist at Pier 1, says lively outdoor pieces give people a way to make a statement: "Incorporating pops of colour with furniture and accessories adds personality and flare."
She suggests adding a colorful bench to the patio to co-ordinate with a more traditional or neutral dining set. "One new piece is a simple, budget-friendly way to make a big impact," she says.
"Brightly colored furniture is also a quick way to punch up a small space," she adds. A bistro table and chairs in playful hues sets the stage, and you don't need much more than a few additional pieces to create an inviting space, even if it's a tiny terrace.
Pier 1's Paris-inspired Neely Bistro Set comes in red or peacock blue rust-resistant cast aluminum. Frontgate's powder-coated aluminum side and bar chairs in fresh colours like aqua and melon come in whimsical designs like curlicues and floral motifs.
