Gaylord, MI (PRWEB) March 11, 2014
The latest studies show that mold is more prevalent today because of the focus on improving energy efficiency. This focus, according to Responsible Solutions to Mold Coalition, has resulted in more airtight homes that dont breathe as well as older structures and more complex home designs that have increased the potential for moisture intrusion.
Unfortunately, mold spores are very small microns and become airborne easily. They produce allergens (substances that can cause allergic reactions), irritants, and, in some cases, potentially toxic substances or chemicals. Inhaling or touching mold or mold spores may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. The problem, according to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), affects between 30 and 50 per cent of new or refurbished buildings.
Buildings breathe through their heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, or HVAC. If the system is compromised by mold spores, no amount of surface cleaning will solve the problem. Occupants reveal their reaction to sick buildings by reporting odors and experiencing a variety of symptoms including headaches, difficulty breathing, skin irritation, allergic reactions, and aggravated asthma symptoms.
In order to get the sick buildings well again they must be treated with a mold remediation product preferably one that is simple to apply, effective, and non-toxic. The prescription Grime Busters recommends for mold remediation is Amazing! NOK OUT which is lab tested for use as a biocide or a product that kills living fungal organisms.
Prior to disinfecting the HVAC system, Grime Busters recommends checking for any visible areas of contamination and completing a pre-cleaning protocol (see the NOK OUT label for detailed instructions) by fogging the air of each room where the contamination existed. Grime Busters has simplified the process of mold remediation with these 7 easy steps.
Apply a light application of NOK OUT to the following areas: 1.Each return intake grille in your home 2.The base of the return at the furnace connection 3.Each room vent allowing for light, but complete moistening 4.The filter of the HVAC system - moisten thoroughly BUT do not saturate NEXT: 5.Turn off the HVAC system for approximately 10 minutes to allow the filter to dry 6.Turn ventilation system to On position rather than Auto and run continuously for 10 hours 7.Go outside and breathe some fresh air. Return and do a sniff test in each room. If odors are not completely gone, reapply NOK OUT to sites where odors or contamination began.
Amazing! NOK OUT is EPA registered and lab tested to destroy these fungal organisms. Killing of the test organism in 10 out of 10 trials is presumptive evidence of disinfecting action. After 10 minutes of exposure to the product, all challenge organisms were killed in 10 out of 10 trials. It is non-toxic, environmentally friendly and efficacious in its application. Many other disinfecting products cannot make this claim.
About Grime Busters: Created in 2007, Grime Busters is a distributor of Amazing! NOK OUT a hospital grade, broad spectrum disinfectant and deodorizer. Grime Busters products remove malicious germs by the process of oxidation. To find out what Grime Busters can do for you, visit nokout.us.

Since 2009, when Eagle Creek Resort was shuttered by court order due to mold contamination, residents and county officials have wondered what the fate of the area was going to be.
Last week Illinois Department of Resources took action against BMDD who is working to restore the resort.
In response to articles printed in area newspapers, including the Daily Union, about the local frustration about the delay in reopening Eagle Creek Resort, Dennis Ballinger, president of BMDD, contacted the Daily Union with a response, which has been edited for print space.
In November 2009, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) issued a request for proposals and BMDD Resorts Corporation of Decatur, run by Dennis Ballinger and his two sons, submitted a proposal. That proposal was accepted by the IDNR. A lease agreement was signed by the BMDD Resorts Corporation and Governor Pat Quinn.
At the time of the agreement, there was an ongoing dispute where Marine Bank of Springfield and Community Banks of Shelby County had filed suit against the former owners and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Ballinger said. The banks alleged rights to various real and personal property.
Subsequently, IDNR was dismissed from the suit. The banks then amended the suit to replace IDNR with BMDD Resorts Corporation.
Ballinger said that the agreement with IDNR was amended to allow BMDD to use all furniture, fixtures and equipment located within the premises. Use is subject to determination of ownership by Illinois Courts.
In 2010, the Ballingers opened The National golf course at Eagle Creek. The course was repaired and altered and a golf storage barn was constructed. The Pro Shop was relocated to a temporary structure on an existing paved parking lot with plans to build a new shop closer to the first tee.
In 2012, after submitting plans for the Pro Shop to IDNR, the IDNR highlighted the problems with the lodges existing sewer system. Estimated cost of replacing the system is $1 million and IDNR insisted that BMDD be made responsible for the cost of sewer system upgrade and repairs
At no time during the bid selection process did IDNR disclose this condition to the public. This past summer, 2013, without the hotel in operation, raw sewage was spilling onto the surface. We believe this condition cannot continue to exist, Ballinger said.

Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Atlanta held its final service Sunday with a commemorative march to make way for a new multibillion stadium set to be built in the city's downtown area.
"Of course, there are a lot of feelings, a lot of memories that we will forever cherish and be thankful to God that he allowed us to have this experience," said Rev. Rodney Turner, reports CBS Atlanta."But we are excited about what's next."
Turner notes that the church has to be cleared out by the end of the week as construction has already begun in areas nearby. The congregation will temporarily hold services at Carver Bible College in southwest Atlanta beginning next Sunday while they search for a permanent worship site. However, Turner hopes they can eventually return to their neighborhood where they have been for nearly a century.
Back in September, church leaders and members voted on a resolution to sell their church site to the city for $14.5 million. Prior to reaching a deal, the city offered Mount Vernon $6.2 million which they considered an "insult."
At that time, the church had asked for $20.4 million but Atlanta city officials said their offer aligned with a state law that prevented them from going higher than the church building's appraised value. While the majority of the congregation voted for the sale, others opposed on the grounds that the city was destroying the history of their church.
Friendship Baptist Church, another church with historic ties that sits directly across from Mount Vernon, also struck a deal with Atlanta to sell its site for nearly $20 million.

"I think it's an abomination in the sight of God for the city and the Falcons to consider bringing down two historic black churches for a stadium for a second-rate football team," said Vickie Johnson, a member of Mount Vernon, according to Atlanta-based WSB-TV.
