Posted on: 6:05 pm, March 9, 2014, by Mark Green, updated on: 06:54am, March 10, 2014

MILLCREEK, Utah Police are investigating after a vehicle left a road, went through two fences, and hit a homeowners carport Sunday.

The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m., and police officials said the driver passed through an intersection while the driver had a red light.

Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department said the driver tried to make a left turn while traveling westbound on 3900 South near I-215. He said the driver couldnt negotiate the turn due to speed and ended up crashing into a nearby property. The vehicle went through two fences and hit a carport.

The two occupants of the vehicle, a male and femaleboth in their 80s, were taken to a hospital in fair condition.

Officials are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the crash, but Hoyal said it appears the mans foot may have hit the gas rather than the brake at some point.

FOX 13 News will have more information as it becomes available.

MILLCREEK An 86-year-old man crashed through two fences and into a backyard Sunday afternoon, police said.

Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department said the man was driving west on 3900 South in a GMC Envoy with an 86-year-old female passenger when he ran a red light at Wasatch Boulevard at about 2:30 p.m.

Hoyal said he believed the man was trying to get on the I-215 onramp, but he failed to negotiate the corner and crashed through a chainlink fence, then a wooden fence and came to a stop in the backyard of the residence at 3396 E. 3900 South.

According to Hoyal, the driver may have gotten his foot stuck on the gas pedal.

Both the male driver and his female passenger were taken to Intermountain Medical Center in fair condition, Hoyal said.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.

L.D. Davis Industries, Inc., a Leading Adhesive Manufacturer, Develops Improved Adhesive for Manufacturers of Plastic … - March 10, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) March 10, 2014

A year ago, L.D. Davis was challenged to develop a more effective adhesive for both plastic and paper faced drywall corner beads than what was currently used in the industry: http://www.lddavis.com/adhesive-products/water-based-adhesives/. Although these plastic and paper faced corner beads are relatively new to the market, they offer significant advantages over their metal counterparts:

Lightweight and flexible Faster and more effective Installation Reduction in cracking Consistent look and longevity

L.D. Davis loves a challenge, especially when it involves formulating a new and improved industrial adhesive product. After a few formula variations and testing, they perfected the product. L.D. Daviss customizable adhesive allows the corner bead to be easily applied within a few seconds after activation with water.

This new corner bead adhesive is being used by leaders in the industry, and many of their customers highly value L.D. Daviss capability to customize this corner bead adhesive. For example, many use a new blue tinted version of the adhesive over other products in the market. We often get asked, why the blue color? Corner bead manufacturers need to make sure there is an even amount of adhesive dispersed onto the corner bead; the blue color allows them to monitor the application to ensure a strong bond. If you do not want a light blue tinted adhesive, we can customize our adhesive to meet your needs.

"This new and effective corner bead adhesive positions L.D. Davis as the best resource for manufacturers looking for a better adhesive solution for their corner bead products," said, L.D. Davis Director of Marketing, Stacey Kreisler.

    About L.D. Davis

Upgrades and paving for East Lake Sammamish Trail this spring - March 10, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

The 11-mile-long East Lake Sammamish Trail that links the communities of Redmond, Sammamish and Issaquah has been undergoing a structural and cosmetic makeover during the past few years.

A cyclist heads south from paved to gravel section of East Lake Sammamish Trail.

The abandoned BNSF Railroad right-of-way that skirts the east side of Lake Sammamish opened 8 years ago this month as a narrow, gravel pathway that rolls past toney lakefront homes.

Long-term plans call for King County to upgrade the gravel path to a 12-foot-wide paved trail with 2-foot soft surface shoulders its entire length. It would serve as a blacktop link in a trail system more than 40 miles long that comprises the Burke-Gilman, Sammamish River, Marymoor Park, and the Issaquah-Preston trails.

More information is available online at the East Lake Sammamish Trailproject website. You can find Real-time updates online. And an FAQ for the East Lake Sammamish Trail improvements is posted here.

Two sections are complete. They are the Redmond Segment (1.2 miles between NE 70th Street and 187th Avenue NE) and the Issaquah Segment (2.2 miles between SE 43rd Way and Gilman Boulevard).

    East Lake Sammamish Trail

Sometime this spring April 21 is the expected start the county will close down the 2.6-mile-long North Sammamish Segment between NE 187th Avenue and Inglewood Hill Road NE to begin the improvements there.

The blacktop will make for easier travel for bicyclists, as well as skaters, and the widening will make the trail safer for more users. Intersections and driveway crossings will be improved as will fencing and sight distances.

Still, I expect the upgrade will change the scenery along the trail, so I rolled over there last week to photograph scenes along the North Sammamish Segment that will no doubt change.
