Fireworks at Hatfield House

A spectacular space themed fireworks display is set to light up the night sky in Hatfield next month to mark Bonfire Night 2014.

Hatfield Houses annual display returns this year on Saturday, November 1 four days before Guy Fawkes Night itself.

Gates to Hatfield Park will open at 5pm, and the bonfire in the Queen Elizabeth Oak Field will be lit around 6.30pm.

All entrance gates are due to close at 6.45pm.

Tickets cost 7 for adults in advance and 3 for children. It is free for under-fives.

Advance tickets are only available online. Visit http://www.hatfield-house.co.uk

On the night, tickets will be available on the gate at 8 per adult and 4 per child, cash payment only.

Police in Bend, Oregon, said they are trying to figure out why a 32-year-old Spokane man was in a northwest Bend neighborhood early Saturday, shining a flashlight at homes, yelling and screaming and damaging fences. Police responded around 4:10 a.m. to a complaint of an intoxicated man with a flashlight, yelling and screaming and damaging fences, Bend police Sgt. Elizabeth Lawrence said.

A second caller advised the man, wearing dark clothing, was near their home, pacing up and down the street with a flashlight, Lawrence told KTVZ.

Officers contacted the man, identified as Vitaliy V. Ivanov, in the 1600 block of Awbrey Road as he illuminated a home with a handgun light that was not attached to a weapon, the sergeant said.

Lawrence said Ivanov resisted arrest as he was taken into custody on a criminal mischief charge, and he was found to have a concealed semi-automatic handgun, along with four loaded magazines.

Later, two more loaded magazines and a can of pepper spray were found in the landscaping near where Ivanov was arrested, police said.

Ivanov was booked into the Deschutes County Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He remained held late Saturday on $20,000 bail.
