EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. (PRWEB) March 16, 2015
Although Spring is around the corner, frigid temperatures remain stagnant across the state of New Jersey. Gold Medal Service, an award-winning heating, cooling, plumbing, waterproofing, and electrical home service company, offers energy efficient tips to make sure New Jersey homeowners HVAC systems dont go into hibernation early, leaving you in the cold.
By making some simple habit changes and opting for energy-efficient products, you and your family can reduce your annual energy bill, and subsequently your greenhouse gas emissions.
Investing in more energy efficient systems can save you a ton of money over time, said Mike Agugliaro, co-owner of Gold Medal Service. Up to half of your utility bill can be from heating costs, especially if the HVAC system is older than 15 years, because it costs more to run. You can save nearly 25 percent every month by investing in a more energy efficient heating and cooling and water heater system.
One way to cut down? Turn down the temperature of your water heater. A second option is the ENERGY STAR Tankless Water Heater. Unlike its traditional counterpart, the tankless water heater only heats the water as its needed and goes into standby mode when the demand for hot water ceases, so it uses less energy, and produces an endless supply of hot water.
Other factors that determine what your annual heating costs are:
If youre not ready to invest in a new system, here are a few more tips to keep your home warmer this winter:
We can also use products like AEROSEAL to seal duct work in old homes to improve efficiency, or if temperatures are uneven and youre not ready to put in a new unit we can install a split system by Mitsubishi to resolve the problem, said Agugliaro. Its reassuring to know that your home is safe and comfortable, and we are committed to providing that for you and your family.

Remodeling is simply surviving -
March 17, 2015 by
Mr HomeBuilder
Sometimes this do-it-yourself remodeling stuff is simply about surviving it.
After many years and MANY projects, you'd think I'd have some great tips, wouldn't you?
You'd be wrong.
My best advice for surviving a bathroom remodeling, for example, is have another bathroom.
My best advice for surviving a kitchen remodeling is eat out.
(Actually, it's "have another kitchen," but I'll get to that.)
My neighbors set out as summer was turning into fall to refinish their living room floor.
That doesn't sound too bad, does it?
Some sanding, some patching, some cleaning, some varnishing. It'll be work, sure, but nothing intrepid do-it-yourselfers can't handle.
Until they were standing there looking at those cabinets and chairs and couches and big-screen TVs and realized every room in the house already was full.

LAS CRUCES >> Those who regularly shop at Mountain View Market Co-Op, 1300 El Paseo Road, may have noticed the many changes taking place at the store over the last few months, particularly the remodeling of the store caf, now branded as Mountain View Market Kitchen.
Along with the smoothies, sandwiches, wraps and salad options already offered in the caf portion of the store, a new Hot Bar and Salad Bar, offering entres and sides, has recently been been added to Mountain View Market Kitchen, near the produce aisle.
"We're focusing on certified organic and local produce," said Mountain View Market Perishables Manager Caitlin Karrenberg, 27. "...We can incorporate a lot of the produce that's grown here in Southern New Mexico into our salad bar, so that customers and member-owners have access to food that comes from within 20 miles of the store."
Perishables manager Caitlin Karrenberg arranges food on the new hot bar at Mountain View Market Kitchen that will soon have a salad bar addition. Niki Rhynes - For the Sun-News.
Karrenberg, who has 14 years of experience working in food service, said one of her main tasks at Mountain View Market with the collaboration of the Mountain View Market general manager, manger and board of directors has been to expand and improve the kitchen portion of the store.
"I do a lot of the creative side in the kitchen so I created the menus, I designed the hot bar and the cold bar and continue to design the facade that the customers will interact with with our employees," she said.
The new salad bar offers organic lettuce, spinach, a spring mix, organic nuts and locally produced cheeses, as well as sustainably produced meat dishes, like chicken salad. All food items offered are also made in-house, like croutons made from locally produced bread and salad dressing made from scratch, using organic ingredients, Karrenberg said.
"I think I have a set-up of over 20 options on the salad bar so there's going to be a lot of food on there," she said.
While the salad bar options will remain fairly static, depending on what's in season, the hot bar features a different menu each month, with different meals offered each day of the week, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
"We take a lot of pride in the food we produce," Karrenberg said. "We get it from really good places. We don't cut corners. We don't skimp. We do everything from scratch and it shows. You can tell when you eat the food."

Bridgewater House revamp complete -
March 17, 2015 by
Mr HomeBuilder
A 750,000 refurbishment project at Bridgewater House on Whitworth Street in Manchester city centre is now complete.
The work has seen the 17,000 sq ft, 9th floor upgraded at the Grade II listed building in Whitworth Street, Manchester.
Revamped accommodation has been refurbished to a grade A specification, including air conditioning and raised floors while many original features have been retained such as the exposed cast iron columns and exposed brickwork.
Located within walking distance of Oxford Road Station and St Peters Square, Bridgewater House provides a total of 180,000 sq ft of office space over 10 floors.
Current tenants include Swinton Insurance and engineering and construction firm URS.
The Cording Real Estate Group carried out the work and have appointed Knight Frank to market the space.
Asset manager Christian Millard said: This project has transformed the 9th floor combining a contemporary finish with the retention of many of the buildings original features.
Although this space is primarily aimed at larger companies, were also in the process of upgrading some of the smaller suites.
"This additional work forms part of our wider investment in the property, which includes plans to refurbish the communal reception area within the next few months.

The 38-story, 908,237-square-foot, 4-Star office tower was built in 1930 in the Penn Plaza / Garment District submarket of Manhattan, at the northeast corner of W. 38th Street.

The architecture firm will be relocating its New York office to the Empire State Buildsing where it will take occupancy of floors 56-58 in the fourth quarter of this year.

This will be the third Monday Properties' building in which the financial investment firm has had its offices. It originally occupied nearly 10,000 square feet at 1100 Wilson Blvd. in 2006, and then signed for 41,656 square feet at 1101 Wilson in 2007. In its new lease, the firm will occupy the top four floors at 1100 Wilson Blvd.
As part of the agreement, Monday Properties will construct a brand new, private roof deck for the firm on the 31st floor of 1000 Wilson Blvd.
The lease is reminiscent of the one Politico signed last August, which saw the political news organization relocate its headquarters from 1100 Wilson Blvd. to 72,000 square feet at the larger, more-amenity filled 1000 Wilson building next door.
At 31 stories, the 558,958-square-foot 1000 Wilson building is one of the tallest office complexes in the region. In addition to the deals signed by Politico and Sands Capital Management, the New York City-based investment firm signed trade group Aerospace Industries Association to a 19,102-square-foot lease at 1000 Wilson Blvd. and executed a 59,361-square-foot renewal with SRI International at 1100 Wilson, all within the last six months.
Bruce McNair, Will Travis, Josh Hartman, David Roehrenbeck and Mike Molinari of Avison Young represented Sands Capital in its new lease, while Brendan Owen, Ed Clark and Steve Hoffeditz of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, in collaboration with in-house reps John Wharton, Austin Freeman and company president and COO Tim Helmig, represented Monday Properties.
