BOAZ The Boaz City Council on Monday awarded a bid for the replacement and repair of the recreation center roof to Willoughby Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. for $36,500.

The council approved the employment of Dustin Ray Baker as a jailer/dispatcher for the police department, Shirley Ann Brock as a part-time library assistant, Enelisa G. Patterson as a part-time custodian for the library and Ragan Zane Pullen as a full-time assistant softball complex manager.

A citywide cleanup will be held from March 31 through April 5, with a cleanup day scheduled from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. April 5.

The next City Council meeting has been changed to March 17 because the fourth Monday of the month will fall during spring break.
