BELMONT, N.C. (AP) - A plumber has stumbled across a financial ledger dating from 1913 at Belmont Abbey College.

The Gaston Gazette reported (http://bit.ly/11IKGq3) Gary Lounsbury was taking fire inspectors through a theater last month when he came upon the book jammed between a stairwell and a wall.

The book appears to have about 200 pages of financial records for the school from 1910 to 1913.

Lounsbury took the book to the college library, where preservation specialist Ali Pizza looked at it. Pizza says the book is covered in mold and may have been stuck in the theater for 50 years.

Library Director Don Beagle says it could cost up to $1,5000 to restore the book. It's being reviewed to determine if it's worth the cost.

The theater was built in 1929.
