Architects all set to help enhance Watchet

ONION Collective CIC has appointed two acclaimed South-West architects to create concept drawings for the first stage of Watchets regeneration.

Piers Taylor from Invisible Studio presenter of BBC2s The House that 100k Built and Louise Crossman Architects will help bring to life the first two of four schemes proposed for Watchet by Onion Collective.

Invisible Studio will create masterplanning drawings that include all four schemes as well as concept drawings for a culture and enterprise development proposal for East Quay.

Louise Crossman will create designs for an enhanced boat museum and visitor centre.

The redevelopment would transform East Quay into a lively development of small workshops, makerspace and studios, plus a gallery and harbourside restaurant or caf in a public space setting.

Piers Taylor said: Im thrilled to be working with Onion Collective.

Theres an extraordinarily rich context in Watchet and Im looking forward to immersing myself in this, and helping produce architecture that will enhance this fascinating place.

Louise Crossman added: It is a compliment to be asked to work with the Onion Collective to contribute to the imagination and energy they are bringing to their proposals for Watchet and West Somerset.
