Saltville council members gave their blessing Tuesday night to a master plan for the Saltville Playground being developed by QC Landscape Architects of Abingdon.

Nathan Brown, senior landscape architect, described plans for the playground that include an outdoor classroom, educational stations explaining local history and characteristics, an earthen amphitheater and a community garden that can be used as a teaching area. A staircase could be constructed from the parking lot above The Salt Trail that connects to the playground.
