Detroit #39;s Indian Village and Barry Sub Neighborhoods by Metro Property Group
Indian Village has the distinction of being one of the only neighborhoods in Michigan to be listed as a National Historic District. It features some of Detroit #39;s most famous architects, including Albert Kahn who designed several homes in the district. Since the early 20th century, several Detroit icons have lived in the area including Edsel Ford. Sprawling mansions are found throughout the 3 street district, many over 10000 sq ft. It is minutes away from Downtown and the Detroit/Windsor Riverfront. The Joseph Barry Subdivision is one of the districts making up "the Villages," a group of historic neighborhoods on the City #39;s East Side. The neighborhood includes both historic homes built in the early 20th century, as well as newer construction homes built in the 1980 #39;s-90 #39;s. The city #39;s most famous home, the Manoogian Mansion, is located in the area, and it is the primary residence for the City #39;s acting mayor.
