Construction on Fakler Architects' new location is nearly complete at Sixth and Garfield streets.

The building will increase the size of Beatrice architect Michael Faklers office by seven times.

I am thrilled, Fakler said. I am just really pleased how it turned out and excited to be using it.

Since arriving in Beatrice in 2005, Fakler had been operating from a small office building next to his home.

Fakler said he looked to future while designing his new office building.

We tried to think long-term as far as spend a little more on the front for things we think would save us down the road because we expect to be here a long time, Fakler said.

That meant adding extra space for future employers and making a well-insulated, strong building.

The main floor of the office has space for a receptionist, Faklers workspace and a boardroom.

The basement has space for cubicles that future drafters will be able to use as Fakler Architects expands.

Because of the block being zoned light commercial, there were some setbacks while designing.
