A FORRES firm of architects received four awards at two ceremonies in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Tom Duff (partner LDN Architects) and Jana Hutt (Knockando Woilmill Trust) receiving the RIAS award from President Iain Connelly (centre).

LDN Architects which are based on St Leonards Road, was presented with accolades at the RICS Awards Scotland ceremony in Edinburgh and the RIAS Awards Dinner in Glasgow, for their work on behalf of the Knockando Woolmill Trust.

The firm was responsible for developing designs and overseeing the implementation of a 2million restoration project at the woolmill.

To win these awards is a significant achievement, said partner, Tom Duff. LDN Architects is delighted to have its work acknowledged in this way.

All of the category A listed buildings at the woolmill, which has been open to the public since 2012, were restored and adapted for new uses.

The visitor reception, caf, toilets and education facilities provided in the byre were extended using the footprint of former lean-to buildings, while the mill house was adapted to house design studios and staff accommodation.
