This year Oskomera commenced construction on the Avante Garde tower in London #39;s Bethnal Green Road. This 70-metre-high skyscraper was designed by Stock Woolstencroft Architects. Oskomera was commissioned by Telford Homes to design, supply and install various elements of the project, including the aluminium unitised faade, steel balconies and sun blinds, in an order worth over 10 million euros. Oskomera has built up a good relationship with both Stock Woolstencroft and Telford Homes in recent years. They have collaborated on a number of prestigious projects in the UK. A project team containing Dutch and English Oskomera staff are working together intensively on the realisation of this project. The English project manager is the main point of contact for the client. Responsibility for the engineering, purchasing and production lies with the Oskomera Group head office in Deurne. Here the aluminium faade elements are assembled into storey-high units which can be mounted as a whole in a metal frame. The steel balconies are drawn three-dimensionally, and once the components have been produced and conserved, they are pre-assembled including the safety railing and flooring. The controlled conditions under which the assembly takes place have many advantages over outdoor building conditions.
