Wasteland - Welcome to Pirate #39;s Roost, Pobeda
A glimpse of what can be achieved in the Wasteland mission featured in ArmA II. This base was completely player constructed and was only about 45% completed. It was planned to have HESCO walls to encompass the entire complex and for the base to extend down towards the lake shore. Before one could even reach the main compound, they would have to pass a small guard station that included a pillbox with an .50 caliber machine gun, guard tower and a barn with roof access for snipers. The alternative route was behind the dam, through dark, open forest that contrasted most all camouflage. At the main section, every defending wall could be looked and shot over from the inside and due to the slant of the hillside, 203/GP-25/RPG rounds had a flatter firing solution and thus could fly farther and more accurately. The fortress was stocked with enough food and water to sustain its occupants for a very long time (hours in this case) and boasted a menagerie of cargo and armed vehicles fit for off-road travel. What wasn #39;t blocked by walls was steep incline that attackers would have to walk up making them easy pickings. Welcome to Pirates Roost. Population: Us. Enemies: You.
