Flower lovers should mark their calendars! The "Nai Lert Flower & Garden Art Fair 2020" will take place at Park of Nai Lert Bangkok from Thursday until Sunday, 9am-9pm.

Held under the theme "The World", the 34th edition of the annual prestigious and highly anticipated flower show will feature several exquisite flower works including a large-scale flower carpet made from flower petals. Said to be the biggest flower carpet in Southeast Asia, this floral creation portrays the symbols of many countries.

Highlights of the event include a display of more than 20 floral sculptures and installations by famous artists and exhibitors, an exhibit of floral headdresses inspired by female characters in Thai literature, and a Chinese lantern extravaganza presented in collaboration with the Cultural Section of the Chinese embassy to mark the Chinese New Year.

This year's art market will gather more than 50 shops offering luxury products and handicrafts such as clothing, accessories, textiles and home decorative items by talented young artists and new entrepreneurs.

Regarded as a foodie paradise, the food market at the flower show will bring a caravan of over 20 food trucks from across the country to serve their signature menu items. Visitors can also indulge in tasty dishes from well-known restaurants Ma Maison and Lady L Garden Bistro whose recipes have been created by a team of chefs.

Many activities will be arranged on all four days including workshops on floral arrangements, Thai dessert cooking, Chinese opera mask painting, calligraphy, lantern and Jigzle 3D puzzle making, as well as the making of Chinese fragrance bags and necklaces.

Also expect to see 14 floral works and eight garden designs from the annual flower and garden competition which focuses on the themes of "floral chandelier" and "apothercary garden".

The competition is a platform for the new generation of floral and garden designers to develop their skills to be recognised on the international stage. The winners in both categories will receive cash prizes, certificates and a trip to visit the Chelsea Flower Show 2020 in London.

The entry fee is 150 baht (80 baht for children and students) with proceeds going to support the provision of medical equipment at Umphang Hospital in Tak province.
