Got an extra half a million bucks laying around? You could own a New Albany mansion that's being auctioned off.

Beckort Auctions listed the more than 10,000 square foot mansion and event space at904 East Main Street in New Albany for an online auction, and the opening bid is$495,000.

It was appraised in 2016, however, closer to $1 million$850,000.

The historical Samuel Culbertson Mansion is a 4-story structure built in 1886and located in New Albany'sMansion Row National Historic Register District, according to the auction listing.

William S. Culbertson built it as a wedding gift for his son.It's since had three ownersDr. John Hazlewood in 1896,the Order of Red Men in 1939 and the current owners, who bought the property in 2004.

The listing boasts features like original mahogany doors, a mahogany staircase, original pocket doors, hardwood floors, "numerous" fireplaces with original mantles, "awesome" original built-in cast-iron cook stove, original shutters on first floor, servants staircase, arched brick doorways in the lower level, all brick construction including interior walls, and a ground floor full bar dating back to 1939.

The mansion underwent restorations in 2019 and 2018, includingexterior painting of the front and east facades,capping andtuck pointing of all five of thebrick chimneys, a new HVAC on the first floor, a restored bathroom on first floor and a staircase boarder carpet installation.
