Clean-Slate Janitorial Services, Torontos Leading Commercial and Retail Cleaner, Releases Pre-Spring Cleaning Tips - March 1, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) February 28, 2015

Clean-Slate Janitorial Services (http://www.Clean-Slate.ca), a Greater Toronto Area-based professional cleaning company that specializes in commercial office cleaning, retail maintenance, floor restoration, carpet cleaning, and construction site cleanup, is releasing its top tips for pre-spring cleaning to make the process less of a task as the season approaches.

For the Greater Toronto Area, February has been one of the coldest months in recent memory, with some of the chilliest days on record. But with spring right around the corner, now is a good time to get a jump on any spring cleaning tasks.

The earlier, the better, says Sam Panousis, owner and operator of Clean-Slate Janitorial Services. And if you think about it, its actually not that early. The frigid weather weve been experiencing in the GTA makes it hard to imagine that spring is anywhere close, but well officially have a change of seasons in a few weeks.

Panousis explains that some cleaning is definitely important for offices and commercial buildings and steps can be taken now, while the weather is still cold, to get a head start on spring cleaning.

The first thing business owners or staff should do is clean up all the clutter. Everything thats been laying around the office for no reason and probably wont ever be used should be cleared, he notes. The next step would be to get some everyday cleaning done: bathrooms, kitchen areas, floors, and other surfaces of that nature. The owner and staff just need to get everything tidy so once theyre ready to tackle the bigger cleaning jobs, everything will be that much easier.

Panousis adds that once those first two steps are complete, its time to get serious. For offices and other commercial properties, this could mean deep cleaning carpets, having the outside of the windows cleaned, or other jobs that require a bit more elbow grease than, for example, vacuuming a carpet.

This is when a business owner or manager brings in the professional cleaning services, Panousis concludes. Having one or two quality office cleanings performed goes a long way, especially if its a smaller business and doesnt have the resources to do full cleanings on a regular basis.

Clean-Slate Janitorial Services cleans commercial properties throughout the GTA and can take on any pre-spring cleaning tasks. Visit http://www.Clean-Slate.ca to find out how Clean-Slate can make an office clean and fresh for the arrival of warm weather.

BUSINESS BEAT: John Bloeser Carpet One Closes; State Of BKBIA This Thursday; More - February 27, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Bloeser Carpet Closed

After 137 years in business making it the oldest floorcovering company in the state John Bloeser Carpet One is shutting its doors.

Starting with its Long Beach retail store at 5510 Britton Drive, which closed to customers earlier this month, Carpet One will be taking phone calls and cleaning out the space through Feb. 28. Call (562) 430-7501 for details.

Carpet Ones Los Angeles Warehouse, which will remain open for now, also can assist customers and direct people to the nearest Carpet One dealer. Call the warehouse at (213) 627-4738.

Owner Jerry Bloeser, the fourth generation of the family business, has been running the company by himself since his brother and partner, John Bloeser, died last year at age 74. The pair had worked together for about five decades.

In Long Beach, if I introduce myself to someone, they say, Oh, youre with the carpet people, Jerry Bloeser said. Our family has a tradition of maintaining this business.

John C. Bloeser, their great-grandfather, started the wholesale side of the business in 1879. The two brothers expanded by starting the retail side of the business; they also were the longtime owners and founders of a now-closed restaurant in Long Beach called The Fish Tale (it was replaced in 2014 by E. J. Malloys).

    For details, visit http://www.bloesercarpetone.com.

    Can-Do Builders Needed

CANstruction, a fundraiser for the nonprofit Long Beach Food Finders, is looking for groups to sign up to take part in the second annual competition on Sept. 17.

Carpet Cleaning Tips to Extend Carpet Life - February 25, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

Despite the trend away from carpet in recent years, the experts at Vartanian Rugs dont think you should give up on it just yet. Carpet adds warmth to a home, both physically and metaphorically, and an array of options are now available that resist wear and allergen buildup two common complaints against carpets in the past. Whether its a runner, an area rug, or full wall-to-wall, carpet is practically a home dcor staple. With careful cleaning using natural products, you can keep your carpet attractive and allergen-free. Before you get rid of your carpet in favour of colder, harder surfaces, try these carpet cleaning tips.

Bring Carpet Back to Life with Deep Vacuuming

The key to keeping carpets plush and to keeping potential allergens away is not only vacuuming often but vacuuming deeply. Most people know to run a vacuum over their carpets once or twice a week, but few do so with enough power and care to fully remove dirt and revive carpet fibres.

While a quick vacuum is perfect for lifting surface dirt and perking up carpet nap, its not enough for long-term carpet care. Its the dirt and allergens trapped near the root of the carpet fibres that really do the damage. To reach these, you need to vacuum carpets deeply at least every two weeks. A deep vacuuming consists of at least four passes in most areas, eight in high-traffic areas. Carpet within a few feet of outer doors should get as many as 12 passes. Divide large rooms into quadrants, proceeding from the corner farthest away from the door to the one closest.

Dont forget to use the attachments to reach crevices along baseboards and around furniture too heavy to move. (Move whatever furniture you can, of course.) For added freshness, sprinkle some baking soda on the carpet and let it sit for five or 10 minutes, then vacuum one last time.

With the added care of a thorough vacuuming every week or two, your carpet will harbour fewer allergens and show fewer signs of wear, adding years to its life. For more tips on carpet care and other flooring options, visit the professionals at Vartanian Rugs online, on Facebook, or at their showroom in Stoney Creek.
