Many modern church buildings today can have a large open interior space to accommodate a growing congregation of people or perhaps a small quaint church for a smaller community. Builders can utilize our all galvanized coated structural steel framing system designed for strength, less maintenance and energy savings. These steel systems are created to be used as a custom designed building system that will certainly hold better values, receive higher appraisals now and long into the future while reducing the energy costs and maintenance costs to maintain the investment.

Importantly they are all pre-designed, pre-cut, and packaged for shipping. Our engineers will use your local codes and create the frame system per the plan configuration requested. DIY contractors and expert builders in any location will benefit and same time and money with our steel framing packages with many advantages such as, non-combustible, more energy efficient, less maintenance, less insurance cost, impervious to mold, mildew, insects, and with faster installations.

The framing system includes complete roof trusses, ceiling joist, interior and exterior walls, bracing, floor joist if required, basement or crawl space floor supports if required, window - door jambs and headers, steel to steel fasteners, specialty clips and steel materials for our thermal break design.

How you insulate is extremely important and a possible good choice is an expandable close cell spray foam that really enhances the system by increasing the R-values up to R38 in the exterior walls and higher for the roof. The non toxic, water based or other mixtures spray foam adds even more strength to the steel system along with soundproofing, stopping moisture, fire resistance and impervious to mold and insects. The expandable foam raps around our main studs and truss system making a superior thermal break and sealing all cavities of the structure. Other insulation systems and types can be utilized such as blown in cellulose that can work the same advantage. Of course good quality thermal insulated windows will be be the next step.

This one system that does it all for the structural integrity of your new building. Eliminate the need for various types of other materials that complicate the design and under perform, confuse the contractors and add those hidden cost to the construction. Our system has no limitations on types of roofing, siding, brick, stone or other finish materials, allowing for the look required.

During our 20 years of experience in the steel building industry, LTH Steel Structures has engineered and supplied various types of church buildings. We pride ourselves on supplying quality products and providing unmatched service and support throughout the entire process of economically pricing, engineering, producing, and shipping your church building.

We can provide you a free, accurate quote usually within 1-3 business days if you have working architectural drawings. We can also help with design if needed for a reasonable fee. We price our buildings economically without sacrificing engineering integrity or safety.

We are proud that over half of our steel is made from recycled materials such as cars and discarded steel products. Building with steel also conserves energy and other natural, raw materials. Steel doesn't host termites or mold, so there's never a need for toxic fumigation or costly structural repairs. We can engineer and ship for domestic or international building codes, and our buildings are of ideal strength for high seismic, high-wind prone areas and or heavy snow loads.

Should fast food replace 1900 house? – NewsTimes - December 1, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

When the trustees of New Milford United Methodist Church sold the circa-1900 house next door, they had no idea a fast food restaurant would be proposed for the site.

The two-story white house was demolished Monday to make way for a commercial building.

The new owner, 68 Danbury Road LLC, is before the Zoning Commission with an application to construct a 3,000-square-foot fast food restaurant with a takeout window on the site.

That fact and an "emotional attachment" to the house is causing some church members anxiety, said trustee Tom Nixon.

But the property was "sold in good faith and the church is supportive of the new owners and development of the piece," Nixon said.

"But a fast food restaurant going in -- we never anticipated that," he added. "That would have a significant impact on the church. Our building is extensively used throughout the week."

Access to the restaurant would be through the church's existing driveway at the signalized intersection of Danbury Road (Route 7) and Pickett District Road.

Zoning Enforcement Officer Laura Regan has calculated that 1,659 vehicle trips a day could be generated if the 58-seat proposed restaurant is approved.

Paul Szymanski, of Arthur H. Howland & Associates, representing the owner, told zoning board members Tuesday that any number of businesses could end up on the property.

"The owner is proposing a fast food restaurant for the site at this time, but the future tenant could be a bank or a retail store," Szymanski said. "The applicant's goal is to receive approval for maximum use of the (1.11-acre) parcel."

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- A man ran into the rectory of an Episcopal church with his clothes on fire, causing a blaze that killed himself and the church's pastor, authorities said Wednesday.

Investigators believe that John Sterner, 56, was covered in a flammable substance when he entered the building Tuesday morning, which caused the fire to spread quickly, according to a news release from town officials. But the cause of the fire remained under investigation, and authorities had not reached any conclusions about how Sterner came to be on fire.

The pastor, the Rev. David Dingwall, died at a hospital after the fire. A woman who volunteers at the church was critically injured and was being treated at a burn center in Baltimore.

The Rev. Heather Cook of the Episcopal Diocese of Easton said the man later identified as Sterner "ran in screaming for help. He hugged one of the volunteers there, an adult female whose clothes were also ignited."

"This is just such a bizarre incident," Cook said. "It's bad enough to lose somebody, but right before Thanksgiving through a bizarre kind of fire, people are stunned. It's not just the parish. It's the whole Ocean City community. People are aghast."

Dingwall was a native of Canada who moved to Maryland's Eastern Shore in 2003 and became rector of St. Paul's By-The-Sea Episcopal Church in 2005. Although the building was once the church rectory, Dingwall did not live there, Cook said. It housed a food bank and church offices.

Cook said that according to witnesses, Dingwall was stricken by smoke and heat after he tried to retrieve his computer from the burning building. He was unconscious when firefighters retrieved him from the second floor, authorities said.

There was little damage to the church itself.

Sterner has a lengthy criminal history that includes arrests for offenses including assault, breaking and entering and malicious destruction of property, and he's been convicted of drug possession and possessing an open container of alcohol in public, according to online court records.

Biloxi church, construction company offer a second chance … - November 28, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

JOHN FITZHUGH/SUN HERALDGarth Caillavet, right, and Kareem Williams, both of Biloxi, install support rods in the new sanctuary under construction at the Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast church in Biloxi on Wednesday. The two work for Adonai Contracting Inc. JOHNFITZHUGHSUNHERALD|BuyPhoto

BILOXI -- Garth Caillavet was under the Interstate 110 loop in Biloxi, drunk and asleep when someone kicked him in the foot and asked him if he was hungry.

"They were my angels," said Caillavet, 57, three months later.

Caillavet's life had been defined by alcohol and drugs. He had lost his truck to a DUI and had been on the streets for about nine months.

Those angels were with Gulf Coast Compassion, a ministry run by Anthony Ditcharo and Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast church in Biloxi.

"Instead of keeping the church inside the four walls, we're bringing the church to the people," Ditcharo said.

"We offer prayers, food, anything they need."

On Wednesday, Caillavet was working with a crew from Adonai Contracting Inc. building the church's new 50,000-square-foot sanctuary on Popp's Ferry Road.

"I quit smoking and drinking," he said.

"I've been saved, I found the Holy Ghost."

Church Construction – Church Development | Church Development - November 27, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

The construction of your facilities is the final step in the building process, and the one in which the church can save or lose the most money.

At this point, you should be ready to live out the maxim of Proper planning prevents poor performanceand saves money. We will havecarefully calculated your needs and financial ability, and developed a church building plan according to those criteria. Fundraising for your church building program (if needed) is underway and your construction financing is in place. You are now ready to build.

The Church Development Services Construction Division can assist in building your church as:

In many circumstances, it will be in the churchs best interest to allow us to build the plan that we have developed. We will help the church in any way we can, including acting on behalf of the church as its agent to help select, negotiate, and oversee the project.

Church Development Services will oversee the construction of your facility using a contracting method known as Open Book Construction Management (OBCM).

Open Book: Everything is 100% open and transparent to the church. For every sub-contractor and supplier, the church can see every bid, every award, every invoice, every check, and will see monthly reconciliations.

Construction Management: You pay the subcontractor and suppliers directly, and we manage the project and process. This reduces the financial risk to the church and allows the church to get the lowest real price on a line-item-by-line-item basis instead of picking a GC with the lowest overall budget.

Quite simply, it is because we believe it provides the best solution for the church. The method inherently provides the lowest cost of construction, gives the church the utmost control, andunparalleled transparency you know where every dollar is spent and why.

Our implementation of OBCM is a Design/Build process utilizing an Integrated Project Delivery model, except that instead of a fixed maximum price, we help the church build for the lowest real cost.

LifeChurch.tv’s church construction near Broadway Extension … - November 27, 2013 by Mr HomeBuilder

Construction of a new LifeChurch.tv campus near Britton Road and the Broadway Extension has drawn avid curiosity just as it has ignited the hope for new partnerships in the area.

The new LifeChurch.tv Moore campus at 2916 S Telephone Road, is scheduled to open in December. Photo provided

Bobby Gruenewald, the church's pastor-innovation leader, said he thinks the project's visibility on the west side Broadway Extension service road has spurred people's interest in the megachurch's latest development plans.

He said the campus will be the church's eighth metro area location when it opens in summer 2014. LifeChurch.tv currently has 17 campuses in Oklahoma and four other states. A Moore campus set to open in December will be the 18th satellite and the Britton and Broadway campus will be number 19. Gruenewald said total average weekend attendance of all the churches is 50,000.

The Edmond-based megachurch, with founder and senior pastor Craig Groeschel at the helm, has drawn the public's interest because of its multisite approach almost as much as its popular YouVersion Bible app.

Gruenewald said church leaders chose the new campus site in northwest Oklahoma City after about a year of searching for a metro area location, finally setting their sights on several pieces of property along the Broadway Extension.

This part of the city is an area that we felt we had not yet connected with, he said.

He said church leaders looked at the neighborhood and the accessibility of the current site and decided to move forward for plans for a new 37,000 square-foot church building west of Broadway and south of Britton Road.

We really viewed that as a positive, he said of the nearby neighborhood and highway access.

Gruenewald said LifeChurch.tv satellite campuses are in various places, with some near poorer areas while others are adjacent to more affluent areas. He said LifeChurch.tv routinely partners with organizations and businesses near its many campuses so the Britton-Broadway campus will be no different.
