BERKELEY -- Changes are in store for a pair of Telegraph Avenue properties, each involving longtime businesses, that are now on the market.

The iconic Caffe Mediterraneum -- synonymous with the Telegraph Avenue Bohemian scene and birthplace of the cafe latte -- is for sale.

But, building owner and current cafe operator Craig Becker said that if he has his way the caf's character and tone, and even its renowned coffee, will stay.

The business, also known as Caf Med, has been at 2475 Telegraph Ave. about four blocks from the UC Berkeley campus, since 1957, and Becker said it is not closing.

The block on which the cafe sits also includes the former Tienda Ho clothing store (now vacant,) part of a corner parcel at Telegraph Avenue and Dwight Way that is also on the market.

Tenants of that corner lot include Shakespeare & Co. Books, which has occupied that site since 1964; and Maxi Hair Care in business in its spot for four decades.

The corner property itself has not been on the market for 95 years, according to Gordon Commercial Real Estate Services in Berkeley, which is handling the sale.

The Telegraph Avenue commercial district has had its struggles and changes in recent years and Becker said the area is not for everybody. But he added he is staying on as the cafe building's owner.

Becker said he is looking for someone to lease the spot who can provide strong management and do some remodeling.

Market For Smart Lighting Drivers, Controllers And Sensor Chips - 2014: Latest Industry Analysis Research Report by ...

Commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union rose for the tenth consecutive month in June, a report from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, or ACEA, showed Tuesday.

Demand for commercial vehicles increased 10.3 percent year-on-year to 166,107 units in June. This was a slightly slower increase than the 10.8 percent rise in May.

Commercial vehicle registrations in all major markets expanded, with registrations in U.K., Spain, Italy, France and Germany rising 25.5 percent, 18.9 percent, 8.6 percent, 6.5 percent and 3.8 percent, respectively.

Demand for light commercial vehicles climbed 13.1 percent. Registration for new buses and coaches increased 3.5 percent in June.

Meanwhile, registrations for new commercial vehicles, excluding buses and coaches, fell 4.2 percent and demand for heavy commercial vehicles, excluding buses and coaches, dropped 0.7 percent in June.

For the January to June period, commercial vehicle registrations rose 9.3 percent year-on-year.

DevOps automation tool leader Chef Software, Inc. has announced today a strong business trend towards DevOps tools amid the rise of web-scale ITan architectural approach pioneered by web innovators such as Amazon, Facebook, and Google. He has been a professional banker for 26 years, holding various positions as a portfolio manager, risk manager, commercial relationship manager and private banker. Over the past 10 years, he has worked primarily in commercial lending and in private banking. Emanuele received a bachelors degree from the State University of New York College at Geneseo in 1990 and a masters degree from the State University of New York College at Brockport in 1992. He is a board member for the Good Neighbor Health Clinic and the Hartland Elementary School.

Kate Sims, of Hartland, has been promoted to private banking administrator at Ledyard National Bank.
