Now that Fall has arrived, many homeowners are making the transition from outdoor to indoor remodeling projects. With holiday gatherings and feasts on the horizon, its still possible to reinvent a kitchen with a minimal time and cost commitment.

Recycling a homes countertops has several advantages:
-It extends the life of an existing countertop without the mess of a complete remodel. This is especially important when it comes to custom countertops and large counters with unique curves and angles.
-The demolition associated with countertop replacement can shut down a kitchen and, in many cases, it takes days for the replacement counter to be put in place. If a homeowner chooses to refinish a countertop, the job can often be done within 24.
-It saves money. A countertop refinish can save homeowners 30% to 50% over total replacement costs.
The process Ascension Services uses involves the application of a hard and durable acrylic coating to an existing countertop. They then apply Stone-Flecks Green Line Paint, which is an eco-friendly, VOC compliant multi-color finish that is available in over 20 colors.
Without even touching the walls or replacing the appliances, a skilled counter top refinishing job can make a kitchen seem spacious, brighter and modern, says Elsa.
Refinishing isn't just for kitchen countertops. The same can be done with bathroom vanities, breakfast bars and even old marble surfaces.

Decide budget, then pick how it will be used
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas When its time to redecorate the kitchen, two of the most challenging choices are the cabinets and the countertops.
The decision can be tough, not just because of the money involved, but also because there are so many style choices.
Usually people want a contrast, said Nicki Ace, department supervisor for the kitchen and bath department at a Home Depot in Corpus Christi. They want dark cabinets and light counters, or dark counters and light cabinets. The contrast goes beautifully in the kitchen.
For those who have more money in their budget, granite is by far the most popular choice, said Glen Wells, owner of Cabinet Alternatives in Corpus Christi. The budget conscious usually choose laminate. Another popular choice is quartz.
There are two types of customer out there, Wells said. One who likes the consistency, and one who wants the black swirl, or the naturalness of granite.
