The Supreme Court on Tuesday cleared the decks for the execution of Nithari serial killer Surinder Koli after it dismissed his plea seeking review of the judgment upholding death penalty.
A Bench of Chief Justice H.L. Dattu and Justices Madan B. Lokur and A.K. Sikri dismissed the review petition after hearing Ram Jethmalani, who argued that there was gross miscarriage of justice as Koli had been falsely implicated in the case.
Mr. Jethmalani argued that Koli was convicted only on the basis of his own confession, which could not be relied upon.
One innocent life is more important than anything else. I am shocked that such a thing can happen in the judiciary as the prosecution had completely suppressed a vital document, viz. the autopsy report of a surgeon, which is a piece of evidence to prove Kolis innocence, he said.
Counsel pointed out that the surgeon, who performed the autopsy, was not examined during the trial.
He said it could be a case of organ trade and handiwork of a doctor, but an innocent person was being sent to the gallows.
The Chief Justice made it clear to counsel, You are introducing new facts for the first time which is not permissible under the rules. We cant entertain this review petition and we dismiss it.
On September 8, the apex court stayed Kolis execution pending disposal of the review petition in an open court. On September 12, the stay was extended till Tuesday. With the dismissal of the petition, it is now open to the jail authorities to execute the death sentence.

A skateboard is a type of sports equipment used primarily for the activity of skateboarding. It usually consists of a specially designed maplewood board combined with a polyurethane coating used for making smoother slides and stronger durability.
A skateboard is propelled by pushing with one foot while the other remains on the board, or by pumping one's legs in structures such as a bowl or half pipe. A skateboard can also be used by simply standing on the deck while on a downward slope and allowing gravity to propel the board and rider. If the rider positions their right foot forward, he/she is said to ride "goofy;" if the rider positions their left foot forward, he/she is said to ride "regular." If the rider is normally regular but chooses to ride goofy, he/she is said to be riding in "switch," and vice versa. A skater is typically more comfortable pushing with their back foot; choosing to push with the front foot is commonly referred to as riding "mongo".
Recently, electric skateboards have also appeared. These no longer require the propelling of the skateboard by means of the feet; rather an electric motor propels the board, fed by an electric battery.
There is no governing body that declares any regulations on what constitutes a skateboard or the parts from which it is assembled. Historically, the skateboard has conformed both to contemporary trends and to the ever-evolving array of stunts performed by riders/users, who require a certain functionality from the board. Of course, the board shape depends largely upon its desired function. Longboards are a type of skateboard with a longer wheelbase and larger, softer wheels.
Skateboards have three axes. The tail axis (running from nose to tail), the central axis (running straight down through the center of the board), and the short axis (running from the width of the board, perpendicular to the tail axis).
The two main types of skateboards are the longboard and the shortboard. The shape of the board is also important: the skateboard must be concave to perform difficult tricks.[1]
The following descriptions cover skateboard parts that are most prevalent in popular, modern forms of skateboarding. Many parts exist with exotic or alternative constructions. A traditional complete skateboard consists of the deck (often with griptape applied on top to enhance traction), trucks (with urethane bushings), wheels (with sealed bearings), bushings and nuts and bolts to fasten the truck and wheel assembly to the bottom of the deck. Older decks also included plastic parts such as side, tail, and nose guards.
Modern decks vary in size, but most are 7 to 10.5inches (17.78 to 26.67 centimeters) wide. Wider decks can be used for greater stability when transition or ramp skating. Skateboard decks are usually between 28 and 33inches (71.12 and 83.82 centimetres) long. The underside of the deck can be printed with a design by the manufacturer, blank, or decorated by any other means.
The longboard, a common variant of the skateboard, has a longer deck. One of the first deck companies was called "Drapped" taken from Jonny's second name. "Old school" boards (those made in the 1970s80s or modern boards that mimic their shape) are generally wider and often have only one kicktail. Variants of the 1970s often have little or no concavity, whereas 1980s models have deeper concavities and steeper kicktails.[citation needed]
Grip tape is a sheet of paper or fabric with adhesive on one side and a surface similar to fine sand paper on the other. Grip tape is applied to the top surface of a board to allow the rider's feet to grip the surface and help the skater stay on the board while doing tricks. Grip tape is usually black, but is also available in many different colors such as pink, yellow, checkered, camo, and even clear. Often, they have designs die-cut to show the color of the board, or to display the board's company logo.

The City of Dearborn is transitioning away from a user-paid parking system in the west downtown business district to encourage greater interest from real estate developers and to boost customer activity.
The decommissioning of the user-paid parking system addresses the perception that paid parking is an obstacle to redevelopment.
It also addresses a popular sentiment that paying for parking in public lots, decks and on-street spaces discourages customers who would otherwise patronize west Dearborn businesses.
It is expected that the decommissioning of the user-paid parking system will take place in January 2015. The City Council voted on Oct. 21 to phase out the user-paid system, based on a recommendation from the Mayor and the Parking Advisory Commission.
Mayor John B. OReilly, Jr. stated in advocating the change: This is a very positive step that will help us achieve our goal of promoting more investment and activity in the west downtown. To get the best results for our local economy, we need to be realistic and remove anything that is perceived as an impediment to recreating a robust and vibrant business district.
The user-paid system will be replaced with an enforced time-limit parking system. That means spaces will be designated for 2-, 3-, 8- or 12-hour timeframes. Vehicles remaining beyond those timeframes may receive parking tickets.
The closest spots will continue to have the most limited times, to encourage turnover. Employees in the district will still be able to match their work shifts with parking spaces that are farther away, but designated for more hours.
The same system eventually will be in place in the east downtown area.
The possibility of retaining meters at some prime on-street parking spots in west Dearborn to encourage turnover is also under consideration. These are along Howard, from West Village Drive to Garrison; Mason, from West Village Drive to Michigan Avenue; and West Village Drive, along Mason to Howard.
The public parking system will continue to be financed with money from the West Dearborn Downtown Development Authority and the citys general fund at a lesser amount than in previous years. Continued...

Apples CArPlay sounds great, but the official offerings straight form car manufacturers are slim right now. Unless you want a 2015 Sonata, or like Pioneer decks, there isnt an easy way to get involved with Apples new in-car system. If you like Alpine decks, weve got good news. The company has released their first CarPlay deck, the iLX-007. With the iLX-007, youll have the power of Siri in your car, as well as apps like Rdio, Messages, and Maps at your fingertips.
Youll also need to shell out $800.
The iLX-007 is a full-fledged CarPlay deck, but checks in at a full $200 more than the base model Pioneer NEX. The Alpine option sports a full 7-inch screen, though, which rivals the top-end Pioneer NEX deck. That Pioneer deck runs $1,400, suddenly making the Alpine offering priced fairly.
The big sell here is CarPlay, though. Alpine doesnt seem to have toyed with the interface much, but they also cant with CarPlay.
The iLX-007 does have TuneIt capability, though, making you an EQ champ via an app. The app links with your deck via your iPhone, making adjusting settings easy. the Alpine iLX-007 also supports Drive Assist cameras to make backing into or out of parking spots simple.
Alpine isnt the first to offer CarPlay, but they are the latest. It also brings another heavy hitter into the CarPlay arena as we wait for Androids CarPlay challenger to hit the market.
