The Juarez Valley on the Mexico-Texas border, a forty mile stretch of cotton fields and ghost towns, is so dangerous that even the police don't dare to enter.

Situated to the east of Juarez City a town which held the title of the world's most violent for three consecutive years the criminal cartels in 'Murder Valley' run drugs, weapons and illegal immigrants across the border, murdering in cold blood anyone who interferes with their business.

Today the Juarez Valley, which runs along the Rio Grande and is just a stone's throw from the eighteen-foot fence on the US border, sees more death and violence than anywhere else in North America. It has even been suggested that it could be the deadliest place on Earth

Vancouver Fencing Company Now Provides Wildlife Fences to Keep Out Dangerous Animals - January 20, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) January 20, 2015

QS Fencing Company, a Vancouver fencing solution provider, has recently announced that they will now provide wildlife fences that would help keep out undomesticated animals. These high quality metal fences by QS Fencing are durable and strong, and can create an effective barrier in order to stop animals such as bears, skunks, raccoons, coyotes and deer from entering the clients property. The wildlife fences by QS Fencing can be used by residential, as well as, commercial clients to keep their properties safe.

The typical wildlife crew you will likely encounter in your backyard will be of squirrels, skunks, raccoons, coyotes, geese and ducks, and urban deer, states a company representative. Some areas in Surrey, BC and around Metro Vancouver may also have bear sightings. Such animals have been notorious for going through gardens and garbage. Their main goal is to find food this is why they will be looking for your edible fruits and vegetables and your delicious leftovers!

Generally these creatures will be tame and pose little threat to humans; however, there have been some recent media attention on incidents involving humans and wildlife. Some have been minor, but others quite severe. Coyotes and bears, for example, have a larger appetite than squirrels. It is therefore important to be aware of your surroundings and best to take precautions as you can.

More than 10,000 Christmas trees placed along Jefferson Parish coastal wetlands - January 20, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

More than 10,000 Christmas trees were placed along pre-constructed shoreline fences in Jefferson Parish to help restore dunes and protect against coastal erosion.

Jefferson Parish officials announced the completion of this year's project last week just days before a planned volunteer event was scheduled to help place the Christmas trees along the coast.

This past weekend several volunteer groups were scheduled to help place the trees along the coast, but the event was canceled due to the large turnout of volunteers the weekend before who helped complete the project.

According to organizers, the more than 10,000 Christmas trees were placed along the shoreline fences in Goose Bayou near Jean Lafitte to help restore and protect the coast wetlands in Jefferson Parish.

Some of the groups that assisted in the operation included Organ Grinders, which is a New Orleans dance troupe and several court-appointed community service workers. In addition, members of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and other local fire and police departments provided equipment and manpower.

Previously, state funds were obtained to help facilitate the Christmas tree marsh restoration project. Now Jefferson Parish officials receive donations from various state groups.

More information on the coastal restoration project can be obtained by calling the Jefferson Parish Department of Environmental Affairs at 504-731-4612.

A&P grants money for fences - January 18, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

by Laura Bean The Courier Your Messenger For The River Valley

The commission voted to grant the Russellville Recreation and Parks Commission $4,000 from general funds to buy four new portable fences for tournament use.

Assistant Director Terry Thomas said the commission currently has two new fences and four old fences, which are in poor shape and need to be replaced. Thomas said the new fences are easier to store and have a longer durability.

The commission approved a $1,999 grant for the Arkansas Events and Festivals Association for its annual conference and trade show Jan. 29-30 at Lake Point Conference Center.

"These event planners are exactly who we want coming to our community," Director Christie Graham said.

The commission approved a $500 grant for an Arkansas Bass Team Trail tournament Feb. 21 at Lake Dardanelle State Park.

Because the event is a one-day tournament and would not result in participants staying more than one day in the area, the commission granted $500 rather than the $1,999 it granted in 2014.

The commission is expected to vote on awarding grants to the River Valley Stroke Play, Red Ball Express Convoy and Vintage Open Golf Tournament during its next meeting at 2 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Chamber of Commerce.

Graham, Amanda Johnson, Al Brown, Shawn Gordon, Sarah Keating, Dusti Yarber and Tyler Riley were present.

Pope's US Visit a Chance to Mend Fences With Conservatives - January 17, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

Pope Francis has electrified Roman Catholics in the United States with the open, accepting tone he has brought to the role, and his first visit later this year is expected to draw more than a million followers eager to set eyes on him.

The leader of the 1.2 billion-member church will also face a challenge in improving relations with conservative US Catholics, who have expressed dismay at his shift in focus away from issues like abortion and same-sex marriage, which the church has long opposed but Francis contends need not obsess about.

The city of Philadelphia began preparations more than a year ago for the pontiff's visit in September, at the end of the weeklong World Meeting of Families.

"What fascinates me is the degree to which he has captured the attention of Catholics and non-Catholics. I find myself in social meetings with non-Catholics talking about the Pope, and he's the subject of great hope," said Mark Mullaney, chairman of Voice of the Faithful, a lay Catholic organization founded in Boston in 2002 in response to the clergy sex abuse scandal.

"He's opened doors and windows that have not been open in a long time, and encouraged discussion."

Some 74 per cent of non-Catholics in America view Francis favorably, with some 93 per cent of Catholics reporting a favorable view, according to a 2014 poll by the Pew Research Center. Both findings were well above his 60 percent favorability rating worldwide.

Francis is also more popular with the roughly 76 million US Catholics than his predecessor, Benedict XVI, according to Pew, though not so beloved as John Paul II, who held the papacy for more than a quarter-century until his death in 2005. He was elevated to sainthood in 2014.

A vocal advocate of human rights, John Paul II drew crowds of over a million at outdoor events during his five formal US visits, while Benedict's 2008 trip was less grand in scale.

Francis has won praise for his decision to live in a simple Vatican guesthouse and not the palace his predecessors have called home for centuries. He has also captured Americans' attention by showing a more tolerant side of the church, famously answering a question on homosexuality: "If a person is gay and seeks God and has good will, who am I to judge him?"

Like his predecessors, Francis has used his influence to improve diplomatic relations between countries and played a key role in last month's restoration of US-Cuba ties. Francis wrote personal letters urging rapprochement to US President Barack Obama and his Cuban counterpart, Raul Castro, and allowed the Vatican to host secret talks. Before his visit to Asia this week, Francis urged a similar thaw between North Korea and South Korea.

Case retains faith in Deep Trouble - January 15, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

Updated: Thursday, 15 Jan 2015 10:36 | Comments Deep Trouble (centre in yellow in black) has not won yet over fences

Ben Case has not lost faith in Punchestown Festival winner Deep Trouble despite him failing to win in his first three outings over fences.

Third to the useful Three Kingdoms on his chasing debut, he was then pulled up behind Coneygree before shaping much better at Kempton over Christmas when he would have been placed in the Wayward Lad Chase won by Vibrato Valtat but for falling at the last.

He will head to Huntingdon next month before Case decides on a Cheltenham target.

"He ran very well first time at Leicester behind Three Kingdoms but it turned into a sprint and then I ran him back too quick at Newbury, where he was keen on dead ground so I put a line through that," said Case.

"He showed what he was capable of at Kempton and he still had a bit left when he fell. He would have been second at least I think. "After that fall he was a bit stiff and sore so we gave him a little break.

"He'll go to Huntingdon in mid-February and after that we'll decide on the Arkle or the Grand Annual.

"We know he goes on better ground so he'll have plenty of options in the spring."
