Christopher Sparkman, the security guard who was seriously wounded in April while on-duty at a FedEx facility in Kennesaw, returned home from Wellstar Kennestone Hospital Thursday, according to a message posted by his wife on social media.
The posting included a photo showing Sparkman, 29, smiling and walking down a hospital hallway as a crowd gathered to applaud. On Thursday, I finally got to bring my man home, Jamie Lynn Sparkman wrote. 73 days, 21 trips to the OR, and one walk out that has changed our lives.
Sparkman was being treated for wounds that he received on April 29 when an armed 19-year old FedEx employee entered the Kennesaw facility at which he worked and opened fire. He has undergone numerous surgeries since. The Facebook post indicated that he has another operation lined up, but is being released for the time being to recover from other operations.
Sparkman was the most seriously wounded of six people Geddy Kramer shot before killing himself. He was found dead inside a trailer at the facility. Investigators believe he acted alone.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 11, 2014
C Spire announced C Spire Home, a growing portfolio of services as part of their ultra-fast, high speed 1 Gbps Internet service. This will let C Spire launch several next-generation services including home automation, security and monitoring, according to the C Spire press release, July 10.
Industry analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.
This is a home run for C Spire customers. We have been hearing about the advanced services starting to be introduced nationwide by national phone companies like AT&T, cable television companies like Comcast and search engines like Google. However so far they are limited to a few larger markets scattered around the country. That means many customers in many cities who are chomping at the bit will have to wait much longer to see these advanced services, says Wireless analyst Jeff Kagan.
C Spire has been changing that dynamic in their market area. C Spire sees the potential benefit in these advanced services and is bringing them to customers within their market area sooner rather than later. This is a very unique approach and very exciting. Rather than having to wait several years, C Spire customers will have access to these advanced services starting within months, says Technology analyst Kagan.
This has to do with C Spires move into ultra high speed One Gigabit per second Internet service which they are in the process of installing and rolling out now. This is the wire line information superhighway that all these advanced services will ride on.
Over this new high speed Internet I expect to see 'smart home' services like home automation, security, monitoring, digital HD television, IP home phone services, home automation, security and monitoring services. And that is just to start the ball rolling, says Tech analyst Kagan.
C Spire customers will be light years ahead of most markets around the country, says Principle analyst Kagan.
Users will be able to do things like adjust their thermostat or turn lights on and off either from inside the home on the control panel or from their smartphone anywhere they happen to be.
This is an all-digital IP based suite of services. This is another example of how C Spire, a wireless company is expanding and moving into the wire line space as well.

Want to unlock your smart home's hidden potential? Here are a few ideas to help you get started.
iDevices iGrill Mini
The good: The iGrill Mini is simple to set up on your iOS device. It lets you cook your food to temp without the bother of having to check on its progress manually.
The bad: iDevices claims that its probe has a 150-foot range via Bluetooth Smart, but we had connectivity issues at shorter distances. It would benefit from a backup charger for those times when you don't have a CR2032 coin battery handy.
The cost: $39.95 to $40.00
The bottom line: The $39.99 iGrill Mini is a well-designed gadget that works. If you like the idea of hands-off cooking, this pint-size probe is for you.
CNET rating: 4 stars out of 5 (Excellent)
Piper
The good: There are a ton of useful home security and home automation features squeezed into Piper's compact frame. It looks great, too, which doesn't hurt.
The bad: The app design is a little busy, and I wish it had night vision. If you don't like Z-Wave, you're kind of out of luck in the accessories department.
