Everyone wants to live in a place with a low crime rate and few home intrusions, but what does it take for a community to become safe from criminals? Home Security Northwest asked this question in a recently released article reporting on the characteristics of the safest neighborhoods in America.
To learn more about the services that Home Security Northwest offers, visit: http://homesecuritynw.com/home-security-monitoring.
The #1 rated safest city in the United States has a very specific design which has been found to have an associated lower level of crime, the article reads.
Home Security Northwest proceeds to explain that cities and neighborhoods whose design and occupants foster an all-inclusive sense of community have corresponding lower crime rates and a higher safety rating.
To support this fact, the article references Irvine California - the #1 rated safest city in the United States. According to the article, There are numerous common spaces where people can interact, and townships and commercial centers divide the city into various residential villages that give everyone a place to belong.
Secondly, the article states that home security systems also greatly contribute to neighborhood safety. The security system serves as an effective deterrent. Specifically, the more home security systems within a community, the fewer burglars will actually attempt to break into the areas residential homes.
According to the article, Homes without a home security system are three times more likely to be chosen as the target of a break in by a burglar.
Also, the article mentions that the home security system industry is expected to grow to $34.46 billion by the year 2017, in response to the increasing threat of home invasions.
Families across the country are seeing the need for home security systems and are arming their homes in response to the pervasive threat of home invasion.

From kits to cameras to all-in-one units, the new generation of do-it-yourself security is smarter, simpler, and more affordable than anything you've seen before.
SimpliSafe Home Security
The good: For such a multifunctional system, SimpliSafe is incredibly easy to set up and use. The company's contract-free packages are highly customizable and thoughtfully designed for better, smarter home security.
The bad: SimpliSafe packages don't include video cameras, and you won't be able to connect with locks, lights, or other home automation devices over Z-Wave, ZigBee, or any other wireless network. The devices also look a little dated.
The cost: $519.84
The bottom line: Home security options are evolving rapidly, but SimpliSafe is one of our current favorites. If you want a comprehensive, easy-to-use system that features live monitoring, you'll have a hard time finding a better option at a better price.
CNET rating: 4.5 stars out of 5 (Outstanding)
iControl Networks Piper
The good: There are a ton of useful home security and home automation features squeezed into the Piper's compact frame. It looks great, too, which doesn't hurt.
The bad: The app design is a little busy, and I wish it had night vision. If you don't like Z-Wave, you're kind of out of luck in the accessories department.

Home security expert, Jordan Frankel, commonly known as the Security Sensei and founder of Global Security Experts, is now making his expertise more available to the media. Frankels home invasion prevention products have been featured on Oprah, Fox News, Rachel Ray, and dozens of other media publications.
Over the past 20 years, Frankel, the inventor of the award-winning OnGARD door brace designed to prevent violent home invasions, has met with hundreds of home invasion victims. The Security Sensei has unfortunately witnessed firsthand both the physical and physiological trauma families experience with these violent brazen acts. The good news is home invasions are preventable and Frankel is on a mission to make both the news media and general public aware of this fact.
I travel the globe extensively working with families, neighborhood watch associations, and law enforcement in a variety of ways to prevent violent home invasion. I work with families onsite in their own home, teaching the family how to react and to respond should a home invasion occur. However, my main objective is to prevent the home invaders from making entry all together. Preventing burglaries in any home brings its own set of challenges, but my unorthodox, highly effective solutions are always custom tailored to any clients specific needs. By directly working with a family, I provide specific guidelines and help install our security devices to ensure the bad guys remain on the outside of the house where they belong, stated Jordan Frankel, Security Sensei and founder of Global Security Experts.
In addition to his home security inventions, Frankel and his team of home invasion prevention experts ensures every member of the public has access to high quality security resources. From his personal Twitter profile, @securitysensei_, Frankel tweets to more than 80,000 fans every day, which include both companies and individuals such as ADT, Oprah, CNN and Fox News. Every day Frankel addresses the personal and financial consequences of home invasions, burglaries and other serious security threats.
Both our organization and its members have worked with Jordan Frankel over the years. When our customers are in need of a home security expert, we look to him for his expertise in home invasion prevention, stated Tom Lynch, founder of the Society of Professional Locksmiths(SOPL).
Frankels ability to outsmart the proverbial bad guys coupled with his commitment to making security an affordable reality for all consumers has allowed countless homeowners, businesses, and law enforcement agencies to seek his expertise and recommend his novel security product inventions. Frankel is also a proud member of The American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), The International Association for Counter Terrorism & Security (IACSP), and The Society of Professional Locksmiths (SOPL).
