California Home & Design magazine has featured celebrated Bay Area interior decorator Kristina Wolf of Kristina Wolf Design in the October issue. The entire issue is dedicated to Californias highly inventive designers, transforming industrial and commercial spaces into comfortable, modern homes.
Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) November 07, 2012
He had lived in San Francisco for 11 years, but didnt feel that it was home until he bought this house, said Kristina Wolf. Now he has a place to entertain friends and clients, and have dinner parties. Coming home is now a joy for this client.
Much of what makes the space so quaint and distinctive is still alive in the now thriving and spacious residence.
The 20-foot-long fire pole to the right of the fireplace has a removable cover for insurance reasons, but homeowner Holger Arnold admits that he and his friends have tried it out, as said in California Home & Design. John Hundts symbol-and-diagram-filled painting plus a coffee table imprinted with the periodic table speak to Arnolds inner science geek. I wanted to display things that spoke to the buildings industrial past, he explains,.
Another notable element from the historic buildings past is the shelving that lines the new homes dining room.
The shelves that run along the dining room were once used for firefighters gear, says Wolf. The shelf sizes seem unusual, but they were built for boots, helmets and other equipment of that era.
The article features a host of Californias top commercial interior designers and demonstrates how old buildings can be updated to fit todays lifestyles and help meet future growing housing demands by incorporating creative design techniques to convert these properties into modern living spaces.
The October issue of California Home & Design is available at newsstands in the East Bay Area and locally at the San Francisco Design Center.

Questions for a Home Stager; What does a home stager do? What should I expect from a Home Stager?
Overview Today I took the time to sit down with Glenys Moss, a home stager with the Hann Group. A real estate team with Hanlon Realty to ask some questions about home staging. Basic Transcript Questions What is home staging? Home staging is getting your home ready for the market. It #39;s a way to maximize the assets in your home and minimize feature that are not as attractive. An example could be that you have a huge flat screen television in your living room that maybe the focal point. It might be best to move that to another room to create a entertainment space. This could make your living room feel much larger and have the added bonus of identifying the other space as a media room. When you go to market your objective is to stage your home to best suit the buyers not to suite the current home owner that is living in the home. An interior decorators job is to adjust the home to best suit the current home owner. A home stagers job is to know what demographic the sale of the home is targeting and to work with the home owner to help appeal to the buyers. If a home stager does their job right they maybe able to have the home appeal to many people and potentially open up the possibility to garner multiple offers. If my client has hired an interior decorator in the past do they need or should they hire a home stager to help sell their home? Where can someone find a home stager? It #39;s not too difficult to find a home stager as there are many around these days. First suggestion ...From:AskTheRealEstateProViews:41 0ratingsTime:08:33More inEducation

PlayStation Home - Santorini Yacht space PARTY BOAT!
I tried to make this yacht a fun place for friends to hang out (even though no friends were with me while making this video lol). I added a poker table, checkers, fireworks, bar with drinks, arcade games, dance floor, and water toys surrounding the spa. I #39;m no interior decorator but I hope you enjoy how my place looks.From:acolytemanViews:7 0ratingsTime:04:24More inGaming

Julia Panama, an interior decorator and former model who appeared on the cover of the first British edition of Cosmopolitan when it was launched in 1972, hopes that as confidence in the Italian economy returns, the historic home will sell for close to its asking price of 1,950,000 euros (1,553,000).
The price was open to negotiation, said Serena Bombassei, from Venice Real Estate, which is advertising the unusual property.
"We have historic records to show it was Titian's house and there is a plaque on the wall saying that he lived there," said Ms Bombassei. "We've had lots of inquiries from the UK, France and Italy. The price can be negotiated a little."
The house, which has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, "played host to kings and princes, as they came to pay homage to one of the greatest painters of the 16th century," the agency's website said.
Titian, whose full name was Tiziano Vecellio, was considered the leading artist of his day and described by a contemporary as a "sun amidst the stars".
Venice holds a few examples of his work, including the Pieta, a painting of Mary holding the dead Christ, which was intended for his burial chapel.
But he died of the plague before he could complete it.

Leslie Walford's apartment.
Leslie Walford AM, who died this year, is usually considered the most influential interior decorator in Australia, certainly in Sydney, where some say he single-handedly redecorated the eastern suburbs in the 1960s and '70s.
He was a man of style and distinction, so the opportunity to buy some of his personal possessions has created a state of polite hysteria down Double Bay way. The sale of his estate, conducted by Mossgreen Auctions, will take place on November 18 at the Tim Olsen Gallery in Jersey Road, Woollahra.
Mossgreen chairman Paul Sumner, a specialist in celebrity-factor auctions, had originally planned to hold the sale inside Walford's penthouse apartment, which will also be sold after the contents have been removed.
A pair of Louis XV chairs.
He decided against it for logistical reasons (lack of space, for one) but selected clients will be able to tour the apartment before the sale.

''It's like walking into a fantasy world,'' Sumner says, ''indescribable in a way, a complete escape from the real world. Everything is constructed like some kind of theatre set. People just don't do that any more.''
Sumner will try to re-create the atmosphere inside the gallery but recommends that prospective bidders look at the photos on the Leslie Walford catalogue on the Mossgreen website to see how the pieces looked in situ.
Eye for detail ... Leslie Walford.
