Award-winning Kitchen Remodeling Projects in the Twin Cities Point to a Full Recovery - November 20, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

Minneapolis, Twin Cities Minnestoa (PRWEB) November 20, 2014

Kitchen remodeling and design trends are revealed in the latest award-winning kitchen remodeling projects in the Twin Cites, as announced by Midwest Home Magazine. Combined with Metrostudy's Q3 2014 Residential Remodeling Index (RRI) posting ten consecutive quarters with positive year-over-year gains, predictions are for a full recovery in the remodeling industry. Kitchen remodels continue to take the lead, both in multi-generation homes who demand larger kitchen spaces and by retiring seniors who use a kitchen differently.

"We see kitchen remodeling projects help increase a home's resale value and home sellers likelihood of winning attractive offers," says Jenna Thuening, owner of Home Destination. "The kitchen is a home's center and is key to maximize first impressions and attracting multiple bids. Being rated tops for recouping costs, kitchen remodeling projects are priority for many Twin Cities homeowners."

The pace of home remodeling is boosted by growing families and retiring seniors who have the deeper pockets necessary to renovate a home. "Despite the moderation seen in current 2014 growth, our forecast for the remodeling market to reach full recovery in third quarter 2015 has not changed, mainly due to continually positive job and economic reports that point to a firming in housing fundamentals over the near term," says Metrostudy.

Minor kitchen remodeling projects help sell homes while running an average national cost of $18,856 with a return on investment of 82.7%. Kitchen remodeling projects for homes in the Twin Cities ROI - Cost vs Value 2014 Report places the cost of a minor kitchen remodel at $18,865 with a recoup of 65%. A major kitchen remodel in the Twin Cities is more likely to cost $54,907, with a resale of $33,805 at a cost recouped of 62%. At an average price tag of $15,000 per job, it remains one of the most sought after home improvements by prospective Minneapolis home buyers.

Award-winning kitchen remodeling projects from members of the Minnesota chapter of the NKBA are announced in the November issue of Midwest Home Magazine.

Types of kitchen remodeling projects happening in the Twin Cities as gleaned from the recent Minneapolis Remodelers Expo and winners in Midwest Home Magazine:

Kitchen remodels lead the home remodeling industry in the Twin Cities and look right on track for a full recovery. "With select building materials out there like custom-cut granite countertops, custom hardwood cabinetry, and natural stone tile flooring, final price tags of $50,000 or more don't even raise eyebrows anymore in elite neighborhoods like Manchester-Groveland and Summit Hill", states Home Advisor.

A newly remodeled kitchen not only facilitates meal prep and cooking, it is often a space used for entertaining guests and daily family communications around simple meals. "Homebuyers do best when appraised of recent kitchen trends in the Twin Cities, and yet house hunters should prioritize the major, unchangeable features of a kitchen that would cost a considerable amount to change," advises Thuening. "Kitchen fixtures and paint colors can be readily updated, but a kitchen that is too small for a every day use may not be a positive after closing and moving in."

About Home Destination - Twin Cities Real Estate: Home Destination offers a loyal and committed real estate professional service that personally handles all of the details of selling or purchasing homes in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Highly regarded by peers as a Minneapolis metro expert for over 15 years, gain a skilled representative as guide to make the best possible housing decisions. How Much Does A Kitchen Makeover Cost? - November 20, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Emily Fisher, Houzz Contributor

How much is it going to cost? This inevitably comes up during an initial consultation for a remodeling project, and it is important to address. Architects will usually provide ballpark ranges early on in the process to ensure that everyone is on the same page after all, both parties need to know if the scope of work is realistic for the homeowners budget. A more detailed construction estimate comes later, once a design has been completed.

Lets look at remodeling a kitchen as an example. The ranges below are based on an architect and builders experience in the Louisville, Kentucky, area. Of course, these costs will vary based on locale; a kitchen remodel tends to be more expensive in large metropolitan areas, less expensive in smaller towns and rural areas, and comparable in other midsize cities.

Use the Houzz Real Cost Finder for a kitchen remodel estimate for your area

    1. Basic upgrade: $5,000 to $15,000. This may include updates as simple as new cabinet knobs, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures and paint often DIY projects. Perhaps it includes replacing the appliances, painting the cabinets or putting new doors put on them, installing new countertops or adding a tiled backsplash. But the general rule in this price range is that everything will more or less stay in the same place, and the shell of the kitchen (floors, walls and ceiling) will stay intact.

    2. Renovation: $15,000 to $35,000. This scope would allow for all of the above plus new cabinets and possibly some changes to the rooms shell, such as removing soffits, relocating lighting or adding a skylight. It may include new flooring or replacing a window within an existing opening. But as with the first category, this budget assumes that the major features will stay in place and that the floor plan will not be dramatically altered.

    3. Remodel/addition: $35,000 to $75,000 and up. A larger-scale remodel may include any or all of the above, as well as a new layout of the kitchen space and possibly nearby rooms. It could involve an addition or opening walls up to adjacent spaces. With a project of this scope, it is wise to enlist an architect or other design professional to ensure that you are making the best use of the space and exploring all options. Sometimes there are relatively simple things, such as relocating that bulky refrigerator or making some minor changes to the floor plan, that you may have never thought of and that can have amazing results.

    How to remodel your kitchen

While the third option is indeed the most costly, it is usually well worth it for the improvement of space and functionality that can result. Things such as natural light and space flow may be less tangible than granite countertops, but they are infinitely more important in creating a space that feels good. I believe in getting the space itself right even if it means having to select less-expensive fixtures and finishes.

Whats great about this kitchen? Foremost, the window and the tree. How different would this space feel if there were a solid wall at the end?

Monmouth County, NJ (PRWEB) November 19, 2014

Total customer satisfaction is something that few NJ kitchen remodeling companies are known for, but World Class Kitchen & Bath Design Center in Monmouth County, has consistently received accolades in 2014 for exactly that.

World Class Kitchen & Bath put together a great design for my kitchen. The crew was on schedule, did a beautiful job and finished sooner than expected. I highly recommend World Class Kitchen & Bath. Kathy B., Matawan, NJ

We even make ourselves available through text messages and email to answer questions and deal with concerns. Donna Vitale, Owner, World Class Kitchen & Bath Designs

The effectiveness of their process is unmatched. First, the clients experience begins with a visit to the multi-level showroom where you will meet with their extraordinary design team. The showroom has full displays including Kitchens, Bathrooms, Tile, Granite, Vanities & Hardwood Floors. A team of designers will present directions for the new kitchen or bathroom and complete a no obligation, introductory overview. Next, Joe will visit the clients home, measure the space, learn the desires and functional needs, and begin to select options. Then, the client is invited back to the World Class Showroom, where Joe is able to show them digital designs of their space and make decisions on the styles and placement of every aspect of their project.

As a follow up, Joe Vitale will return the clients home and pre-measure the space to ensure that every piece of the project is precisely correct for the customers kitchen renovation.

The installation was timely and very professionally handled. Every step from the design, including assistance with color and options from the staff, helped complete the kitchen. Updates were provided throughout the entire project to keep us informed. A+! Frank & Debbie L., Morganville, NJ

Donna Vitale alongside the internal team will place orders for every part of the project. From the hardware, to the builders, to the delivery dates, she ensures that everything needed for the job is ready and in place on the first day of construction. From there, everyone stays involved through the process, with Donna exclusively managing the on-site construction team. Accessibility is key and World Class understands that schedules may change and clients might need special accommodations. Additionally, there are measures of quality control at each step during construction, so World Class takes full accountability and manages any potential issues.

Joe Vitale returns to the home during and after the project to make sure that the client is happy and that everything is 100% precise and satisfactory.

Troubleshooter: ABC11 viewer helps homeowner after kitchen remodeler closes - November 19, 2014 by Mr HomeBuilder

    BURLINGTON, N.C. (WTVD) --

We first heard Frances and Paul Tausch's story in June after they paid more than $12,000 for American Kitchen to build their dream kitchen. But before any work could be completed, American Kitchen shut down with no notice.

The Tausch's were left with an incomplete kitchen and nowhere to turn.

"I guess now the only thing we got to go forward somehow, got to move cabinets back in and just forget about it," Frances Tausch said.

But Tausch didn't have to forget about her dream kitchen thanks to some generous Triangle businesses.

"After watching your story, my wife and I were sitting there, we were saying, 'We've been blessed this year,'" owner of Witcraft Painting & Decorative Concrete Coatings Robert Witcraft said.

Witcraft also got several other businesses on board.

"We're really sorry that this happened, and you know, not all contractors are bad," he said.

Witcraft coordinated with Paragon Building Group to complete the project.

"It was important for us to make sure they got what they intended to get for the best price possible and it was a team effort," owner of Paragon Building Group Josh Mauney said.
