Pubs and restaurants in the city opened their patios to sun seekers, and are reporting packed crowds this weekend.
The unusually warm January weekend has hot spots on 17th avenue cashing in.
Its usually busy inside but there are defiantly full patios now, said Justin KukuruDz from the Ship and Anchor.
Shannon Dressel from The National Beer Hall says they will be keeping their patio open as long as the weather allows.
Our patio is fully set, so are our neighbours over at the ship, so I think just because of the extra nice weather people are really taking advantage of it, said Drerssel, adding outdoor heaters are a big help.
Andrew Brassard, with Broken City, in the core, tells 660News, as soon as they opened their patio, about 10 tables filled up immediately.
He said it definitely took some work to get the patios ready.
We spend hours clearing the two feet of snow and ice off of it, said Brassard.
Still, some businesses arent able to get in on the sun seeker crowds telling 660News they are still buried under too much snow to make their patios work.

Calgary patio weather good for business
Just call it the big thaw.
In the aftermath of record amounts of December snow, Mother Nature is turning up the heat while snow-weary Calgarians struggle to navigate clogged and impassable residential streets.
The temperature is expected to climb to 14 degrees on Saturday in what promises to be a massive melt that will transform slick streets into mounds of soupy slush.
The weather warning comes as the citys 311 municipal line is already inundated with record complaints about snow and ice removal.
A team of contractors and city workers will be out again Saturday as part of a four week plan to clear the snow in 200 communities. We continue to move forward with our snow action plan, said Carissa Vescio, a spokeswoman for the citys transportation department.
The big thaw will create soft, wet, slushy conditions. We ask Calgarians to continue to drive cautiously and top up their windshield washer fluid.
Saturdays mid-January melt highlights a bizarre irony in the city. While bars along the Red Mile serve beer and appetizers to patrons on patios and skiers trade tuques for T-shirts at Canada Olympic Park, suburban residents continue to seethe over icy sidewalks and vehicles trapped on snow-packed roads.
Douglas Century, a New York-based journalist in Calgary this week to visit family, finds the situation astonishing.
He said the wheels of both an ambulance and a fire truck became stuck in heavy snow on an impassable street in his parents southwest neighbourhood of Chinook Park.

West Linn's wild turkeys may seem a little intimidating to young students at Willamette Primary School. But a lot of adults in the city's Willamette neighborhood have been enjoying the visits for quite a while.
"The turkeys have been in the Willamette neighborhood since October or November," said Shelly Wert, who lives near Willamette Park. "They've been hanging out in several other neighbors' yards near the school."
Sean and Rebecca Weiss, who live just five houses down from Willamette Primary, said the turkeys aren't at all bashful about pecking around in their backyard. One bold, inquisitive bird even peeked in the back door.
"Two were regular visitors to our yard, foraging through our garden throughout the summer and falland picking off all the raspberries -- their favorite," said Rebecca Weiss. "They were not afraid of people."
On Wednesday, officials at Willamette Primary School called West Linn police because a turkey was approaching students as they neared the front door a little unnerving because the bird is almost as tall as they are.
Officer Brad Moyle saw the turkey, but was unable to catch it. He guessed that someone had hand-fed the bird sometime in the past, unwittingly teaching it that people any people will give it a tasty handout.
Moyle said Community Service Officer Peggy Jones planned to meet with members of the American Wildlife Foundation, a Molalla-based nonprofit, to explore the possibility of trapping and relocating turkeys who have lost their fear and became nuisances.
For adults, however, the birds mostly have been a source of wildlife-in-the-city entertainment.
"We just 'shoosh' them off when we want them to move on, and they go peacefully," Wert said. "I hate to think they would be euthanized. We've enjoyed having them around."
