One of the Cs in FYCC stands for community.
And as Families and Youth Community Connections relocates to its new home at the former Albertville City Hall, community was at the center of a remodeling project.
Thats because FYCC teamed up with Home Depot and Behr Paint to not only have materials donated for renovating the old hall, but about dozen volunteers came in for a day to help remodel and paint the facility.
FYCC Director Sandy Greninger said this is the second time Home Depot came to the rescue.
We had worked with Home Depot and their Team Depot project to help us at the (St. Michael) BMX track, Greninger said. We got a $20,000 grant to build a new starting cover.
Although the old Albertville hall renovation was much less expensive, Greninger said the volunteer help and materials saved at least a couple thousand dollars.
FYCC is funded by the cities of St. Michael and Albertville, and the STMA School District. Its former offices were located in the current St. Michael City Hall, but Greninger said FYCC wanted more space to host activities on site, so she was thrilled that the city of Albertville offered use of its old hall located directly north of its current hall on Main Avenue.
