Looks like garden sheds are no longer just for keeping the lawn mower in [TIM STEWART]
A new competition has revealed some of the wackiest sheds from across the country, including beach huts, boats, castles, railway signal boxes and diners.
Almost 2,000 sheds were entered into the contest, run by garden woodcare brand Cuprinol, including 308 pubs and 17 Doctor Who-themed Tardises.
Researchers found that many Britons see their garden shed as far more than just a place to put their lawnmower in fact they store an average of 457 worth of items in them.
Four in ten sheds boast lighting while over a third (35 per cent) have electricity and one in ten (11 per cent) are heated.
An extravagant seven per cent of sheds have a TV, five per cent a sofa and two per cent include a hot tub for their owner to enjoy a soak away from the house.
Not content with somewhere to watch television or take a dip, some people have taken their garden sheds even further.
One such owner is Garry Wells-Larter, from Leicester, who has transformed his shed into a nightclub.
Trained carpenter Garry fitted out "Bar Code" with two sound systems, a 42 inch plasma TV with surround sound playing music videos, karaoke machine, remote-controlled neon and disco lights, plasma ball and full bar.
Although it can only fit 12 people at full capacity, Garry says his bar "packs a punch" to make up for its size.
