Blink and you might miss them.
Just ahead of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights grand opening next month, window cleaners work 100 metres above the street, to make the glass shine.
The first cleaning were doing is a post-construction, so its a lot of work. Youre cleaning off a lot of residual debris from building the museum, cleaner Silas Chipelski said.
And its a big job, requiring rappels from various points and a cherry picker for those hard to reach places. Chipelski says its sometimes hard to imagine it all gets clean with just a brush and a squeegee.
More than 2,000 glass panes require cleaning inside and out taking the team of eight two months to complete the entire project.
You can see the shape of it is pretty out of this world, Chipelski said.
Museum construction began in 2009, and the final pane of glass was set in 2012. And while heights are certainly a factor for the group, the cleaners say theyre not scared at all , and that something else bugs them more.
As nice as the sun is, thats really the number one thing the hotter it gets, the water dries, so were starting really early in the morning before the sun comes out, said Toban Reimer, operations manager.
Reimer said while its not certain yet how often window cleaning will take place, a building the size of the CMHR usually will be cleaned twice a year, in spring and fall.

PHILIPSBURG - Plans to clean up lead contamination at the Philipsburg Rod and Gun Club's trap shooting range within Black Moshannon State Park will be the focus of a public meeting and public hearing on Sept. 22.
The state departments of Environmental Protection and Conservation and Natural Resources are expected to review four plans to address the extensive soil and limited groundwater contamination found on the site as a result of generations of lead shot from trap shells fired on the property.
The plans will be detailed during the public meeting, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Rush Township Municipal Building, 150 N. Richard St., Philipsburg.
"Staff from DEP's Environmental Cleanup and Brownfields program will explain the issue, review the proposed remedial solutions and answer questions," DEP North-Central Regional Director Marcus Kohl said.
The state's preferred alternative, estimated at $835,319, calls for removing lead shot from the site and stabilizing the soil in a way that will decrease the leachability of the lead. Three alternative plans include suggestions of taking no action, of providing an impermeable cap to restrict the lead's mobility or the excavation, treatment and removal of the soil for disposal in a landfill.
An administrative record, including an analysis of the alternatives, is available for review at the Black Moshannon State Park office or at DEP's North-Central Regional Office in Williamsport. Park office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. DEP regional office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
The presentation on the alternatives will be followed by a public hearing, starting at 7:30 p.m., when citizens can offer up to five minutes of comment regarding the proposed remedial actions. All testimony will be recorded and transcribed into a written document. DEP is expected to provide a written response to all relevant testimony. DEP is also willing to accept written testimony of any length.
Anyone in need of specific accommodations to participate in the meeting or hearing should contact Daniel Spadoni at 570-327-3659 or through the Pennsylvania AT&T Relay Service at 800-654-5984.

A pensioner tragically died when she fell through a fourth-floor window that she was cleaning, an inquest heard.
Sarah Phelan, aged 82, was washing a windowsill of her flat at Avondale House, North Cumberland St, Dublin 1, on the evening of July 8 last year when the accident happened.
Garda believe she was attempting to clean pigeon droppings off the windowsill when she fell.
Neighbour Mary McDonnell told Dublin Coroners Court that she was sitting in her flat in the block opposite Mrs Phelans when the accident happened at around 9pm. She said she could see Mrs Phelan washing the windowsill of the top-floor flat.
A few minutes later, she was hanging out of the cable wire shouting help, help. I ran around but when I got there she was on the ground, she said.
She had fallen four floors to a small garden area directly below the flat window. Neighbours rushed to her aid and were performing CPR when paramedics and garda arrived. Garda Kieran Brady said she was unresponsive at the scene. Mrs Phelan was taken to the Mater Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The postmortem found that she died as a result of major internal injuries sustained in the fall, including a transected aorta.
Garda Brady said garda are satisfied there was no foul play involved.
The court heard that Mrs Phelan was fastidiously clean and had a dislike of pigeons congregating on her windowsill. Garda Brady said a cloth was found on the windowsill. When asked by coroner Dr Brian Farrell if he believed she had fallen across the windowsill while cleaning it, Garda Brady said yes.
The coroner expressed concern that the window ledges in the flat were very low and the windows could be opened fully. The family told him that the flat, which is a Dublin City Council property, has since been given to a family with young children.

  STANFORD, Calif.
Children being treated at Stanfords Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital got a special treat when they looked out their windows Monday.
Hanging from a harness from the roof were several of their favorite superheroes.
It was an annual visit created by the window washers at Delta Window Cleaning in Santa Clara. Three of their employees don Spiderman, Superman and Batman outfits and scale down to entertain the children while they work.
Its difficult for children to be in the hospital, said hospital spokeswoman Winter Johnson. We want to make staying at the hospital a magical experience.
From the smiles all around, it definitely proved to be a magical day for the young patients. "It's a simple way for us to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary," said Andrew Rich, director of housekeeping. "We know these legends will brighten everyone's day."
