Two buildings in Southwest Florida are among the 58 structures nominated for the statewide online Peoples Choice awards competition sponsored by the Florida chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

The competition highlights the work and importance of Floridas architects.

The nominated buildings within the Southwest chapter of American Institute of Architects Florida are the Chicos National Support Store Building 10 and the 3333 Building in Naples.

We are proud of our local community buildings, which are especially important to the areas way of life because they cater to the publics needs, said Stephen Hruby, current president of the Southwest chapter of the institute.

The public can vote for their favorite buildings at http://www.floridapeopleschoice.org until midnight July 18.

The results of the voting will be announced July 19 at the institutes convention in Miami.

Chicos National Support Store Building 10 was designed by GMA Architects. Chicos is a worldwide supplier of private label womens clothing.

The 3333 Building was designed by architect David Poorman. The mixed-use commercial center on U.S. 41 in Naples is an update to the 1970 structure.
