SARTELLThis custom home is designed by a couple with lots of home-building experience.

The couple, who owned a home-building business in Canada, designed the house around a unique horseshoe-shaped island at the center of the home. This central feature creates a space perfect for everyday use and for entertaining friends and family. The island is combined with a central eating area in the middle and on both sides.

As they designed the main living space, they took full advantage of the homes surroundings and created a full back wall of framed glass windows to capture the natural landscape and the unparalleled views of the private, neighborhood lake. Huge timber ceiling beams add to the natural beauty inside the home.

The main living room features a mixture of modern and natural elements including a wood-burning fireplace and mantle and contemporary light fixtures. This floor of the home features triple-paned windows with remote-operated window treatments.

The master bedroom suite features the same beautiful views of the lake and the suite has a spacious walk-in closet with custom, built-in shelving and a spa-like en suite. The en suite offers a soaking tub and a walk-in shower as well as countertops with double sinks and upper and lower vanity storage.

The same care and eye for design was used when creating the in-home office. The office has waterfront views to make working from home a more enjoyable experience, said the owner.

The lower level of this home features a finished family room with wet bar and more full views of the lake. This walk-out allows the natural light in and offers access to the outdoor patio.
