Bridge deck repair work taking place on I-290 in Amherst this weekend – WGRZ.com

AMHERST, N.Y. Amherst drivers need to beware of some construction happening this weekend.

The New York State Department of Transportation announced that lanes will be restricted on I-290 in Amherst over I-990 on Saturday.

Lanes will be reduced down to one on eastbound I-290 from Niagara Falls Boulevard (US Route 62) to Millersport Highway (NY Route 263) for bridge deck repair work.

Lane closures will start at 8 a.m. and are scheduled to end at 4:30 p.m.

Drivers should expect some delays and allow for extra time.

The deck repair is weather sensitive and could be delayed for the weather.

Drivers are reminded to slow down in work zones and remember that fines double in these areas.
