Valdosta To the surprise of absolutely no one who had seen the previous twin bill between Crisp Academy and Highland Christian, the visiting teams stayed unbeaten in Region 3-A GISA play Friday.

A 72-5 victor over the Lady Highlanders when they met in Cordele 10 days earlier, the Lady Wildcats downed them 49-14 in the re-match. In the process, the three-time defending state champs notched the schools fifth straight season of 20 or more wins by a girls team.

A 78-51 conqueror of the Highlanders in their initial clash that resulted in Highland school officials filing complaints about things allegedly said to their players here, the Wildcats won a closely-officiated re-match, 52-42.

In both cases, the results enabled Crisp to remain unbeaten (4-0) atop the region standings prior to their scraps yesterday afternoon at likewise undefeated Georgia Christian.

Overall, the Lady Wildcats were 20-2 and the Wildcats were 9-7 after games here. Their schedule for the coming week calls for Tuesday home games vs. Grace Christian and a Friday visit to Fullington.
