UXBRIDGE A dispute delaying the demolition of the Bank Building has been resolved, and the stabilization and demolition of the building has begun.

Town Manager Sean Hendricks said Tuesday that Nick Kotsianas, owner of the Bank Building, and the owner of the abutting Keegan Construction building have come to an agreement.

Route 122 has been closed since a six-alarm fire Thursday afternoon destroyed the building, and officials hope to have one lane open by Wednesday and both lanes open by the weekend.

The cause of the fire will officially remain undetermined, according to the state fire marshal's office.

Fire officials said the fire started in a confined, inaccessible space on the third floor.

"All evidence points to an electrical fire," said Jennifer Mieth, spokeswoman for Fire Marshal Stephen D. Coan. "But due to the destruction, there is not enough evidence to say definitively that it is electrical, so it will remain officially undetermined."
