LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Steps to demolish an empty Little Rock building -- that neighbors say turned into a homeless camp -- are underway.

Today crews could be seen working on asbestos removal at the West Markham Professional Building that's located at the intersection of Markham and Tyler.

Fox 16 first reported on this issue last week when neighbors complained about the homeless leaving behind trash.

Residents also noticed other problems in the area and complained about being harassed by the homeless and seeing people in the parking lot having sex.

One woman, living nearby who didn't want to be identified, said, "This is a tremendous relief because we have had no one to back us up until you did a report the other night and finally we see some movement on this property."

The City of Little Rock is working with the property owner to get the building demolished and bring new development to this area.
