Jason Allen Burns of Attleboro, a self-employed construction worker, died Wednesday at home due to complications with diabetes. He was 37.

Born in Attleboro, Mr. Burns was a lifelong resident. He was raised and educated in town and raised his children in Attleboro as well.

Mr. Burns was self-employed in construction for many years, with several years spent working for Jay Cashman on his private island off of Chatham. He specialized in drywall installation and was always helping family and friends with construction projects.

Mr. Burns enjoyed the time spent with close family and friends. He loved camping and riding ATVs, not only with his children, but with his nephew and his friends children. On most weekends, he and his brother would host cookouts and work on projects together at home with friends.

In addition to time spent with his family, Mr. Burns treasured times spent deep-sea fishing with his mother and brother, listening to country music, and relaxing around a bonfire with family and friends and roasting marshmallows with the kids.

Mr. Burns is survived by three children, Jordan, Janessa and Julian Coburn, all of Attleboro; his mother, Sandra Ellen (Ebert) of Attleboro; a brother, Shawn M. of Attleboro; his companion, Emily F. Smith; a nephew and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, North Attleboro.

Private burial will be in Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro.
