Multi-state U.S. home builder Taylor Morrison is girding to provide additional excitement to the Southwest Florida real estate market with its planned golf course and a new lifestyle community called Esplanade by Siesta Key; both projects are slated to begin this 2013. The golf links, the first private golf course to be built in the region since 2008, is set to be constructed at the firms leisure community, Esplanade at Lakewood Ranch.

The newest among Lakewood Ranch communities, Esplanades is a 207-acre gated neighborhood just off State Road 70 close to the Manatee Countys southern boundary with Sarasota. It consists of 450 single family homes and detached villas; prices of its residences start at the $200s. With the golf course project, Taylor Morrison expects to have an additional 800 residential sites for the community.

The golf course section will add 400 acres to Esplanade and will be the fourth separate golf layout in the Lakewood Ranch area. Currently, this master-planned development hosts the championship golf courses of the Lakewood Ranch Country Club and the Legacy Golf Club. Bordering the development is The Concession, and the links exclusively for guests and members of Ritz-Carlton Sarasota.

With the completion of the Esplanade golf course, this neighborhood would join the league of premier golf communities in the region. As it is, the community already flaunts of a mix in the best of Mediterranean and Southwest Florida living with its lush landscaping, serene lakes, regional-inspired architecture, and varied resort-style amenities run by a full time, on-site lifestyle director.

The nucleus for Esplanade community activities is a luxurious clubhouse with a grand ballroom, catering kitchen, fitness and aerobics center, card and craft room, billiard room and library. Other amenities include a heated lagoon-style and lap pool, resistance pool, spa, outdoor barbeque space, fire pit, walk trails with gazebos, boat launch, adventure playground, and Bocce and Pickleball courts.

Community Links with Siesta Key

A similar list of amenities will be available to future residents of Esplanade by Siesta Key which Taylor Morrison is set to develop for 247 home sites on a 77-acre parcel of land just off north of Clark Road, near east of U.S. 41. This neighborhood is programmed for a mix of coach homes, detached villas, and single-family homes. With initial development of the community set this year, model homes are expected to be on display in early 2013. The architecture of the homes will be California Tuscan in style with ornamental detailing and barrel-tile roofs. The estimated build-out of this community is five years. Its site is located well off the road and on an area dense with trees, which will be developed with crisscrossing walk trails.

Esplanade by Siesta Key will also feature a clubhouse with a social room, catering kitchen, fitness center, and library. Its compound will also house sport courts; a heated, lagoon-style swimming pool and a spa, a fenced bark park; and a barbecue area and fire pit. A lifestyle director will likewise be hired to organize activities and events. A shuttle will also be available to ferry residents to Siesta Key Beach, only about two miles from this Esplanade community.
