WATER rationing is never fun, especially for families with kids and even singles like me. Instead of complaining, why not turn no-water weekends into a splashing fun family outing at a waterfall or recreational river park.

My choice is Lentang Forest Recreational Park, 45 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur, off the KL-Karak Highway.

The scenic drive on the winding highway puts me in the mood. If you dont plan on packing food to bring along, no worries! There are many stalls in the area, selling a variety of food.

You can enjoy your meal at the gazebos scattered around the park or spread your mat on the grass and enjoy a picnic.

Personally, I prefer to enjoy hot nasi lemak, packed from home while seated on a rock with feet dipped in in the cold water and listening to the soothing sounds of Nature. Aahh... heavenly.

Shortly after the meal, its time to take a plunge in the natural water pool. This proves to be the most rejuvenating bath ever, better than a hot shower at home!

For those who would like to spend the night, there are special campsites available. Just inform the authorities at the office located at the front gate.
