Building work on offer in return for donations

Local tradesman Rocky Sutherland will put his handyman services up for grabs at the Kununurra Neighbourhood House Family Disco on Saturday night.

The father and RIBUILD builder has volunteered four hours of his time as the event's door prize.

Every ticket sold goes into a draw, and the winner will receive four hours of service which Mr Sutherland said could be used for "building, maintenance or any other handyman jobs".

The father of one and registered builder said he understood the value of Neighbourhood House and had used the facility when his son, Ewan - now five - was a baby.

The event, held at the Pinctada Kimberley Grande, will raise funds for Kununurra Neighbourhood House to continue running their family programs.

Program co-ordinator Belinda Allister said the non-for-profit had suffered "severe funding changes" at the end of last financial year and proceeds would help the facility to "deliver outstanding service".

Neighbourhood House operates Australia-wide and shines a spotlight on families with children under five, providing parent groups, craft groups, creches and support networks.

The disco will be held from 4-7pm at the Pinctada Kimberley Grande's Kimberley Room.

Entry is free for children under 12 months or $10 per child, $20 per adult or $50 for a family and includes a wood fired pizza dinner.
