Seniors First Receives Grant for Home Safety

(AUBURN, CA) - Seniors First has been awarded a prestigious grant by the United Auburn Indian Community of the Auburn Rancheria for $5,000 to support home modification and safety repairs for older adults in the county.

Seniors First, a 501(c)(3) organization providing vital services to older adults in Placer County, was carefully selected as a recipient of the grant to help fund the organization's handyman program. "We are honored to receive such a generous donation from the United Auburn Indian Community of the Auburn Rancheria. During this time of year it is especially important to provide our seniors with the proper care and love they need," commented Jamee Horning, executive director of Seniors First.

The handyman program at Seniors First provides minor home repairs for low-income Placer County seniors. This is one of a full spectrum of services offered by Seniors First to help older adults maintain their independence and remain safe in their homes for as long as possible. "There is a great demand for this program at Seniors First and we are truly grateful that the money provided from the grant will help support home and safety repairs for seniors in our community," added Horning.

Seniors First is always in need of friendly, dedicated volunteers and financial support to underwrite programs and services for Placer County's older adults and their families.
