MANILA Despite having his hands full dealing with the countrys problems, President Benigno Aquino III should make an effort to look for a life partner and get married this year, a Hong Kong-based feng shui master said Monday.
Joseph Chau Kam Ching, who has been practicing feng shui for over 30 years and has had clients from different parts of the globe, said Aquinos luck will be very weak if he does not tie the knot this 2014.
Chau specifically said the President should consider marrying a woman who was born in July, August or October.
If the President will get married this year, then he will have good luck. If he doesnt get married this year, his luck will drop, the feng shui master told ABS-CBNnews.com and select members of the media during the Chinese New Year press conference of the Mandarin Oriental Manila.
I cannot say that the President will have bad luck, but his luck will be very weak, it will drop to the bottom So think about what will happen, he said.
When asked if this will greatly affect the countrys luck, Chau replied: I wont say [it directly]. You have to think about common sense.
Aquino, who was born in the Year of the Rat, was linked last year to lawyer Mariness Ledesma and beauty queen-turned-actress Bianca Manalo.
After his two-year relationship with Valenzuela City councilor Shalani Soledad ended in 2010, the President was said to have dated stylist Liz Uy and TV host Grace Lee.
He (Aquino) has to find a person born in July, August or October Because I want to let the President have an enhanced luck. He has to choose the lucky period [for his partner], Chau said.
Meanwhile, Chau advised Aquino to turn on the fountain in Malacaang 24 hours for one year to ward off bad luck during the Year of the Wood Horse.

Feng shui master Joseph Chau conducts an 'energizing ritual'. Mandarin Oriental Manila
Feng shui master Joseph Chau says in his 2014 forecast that people born in the Year of the Horse are [c]heerful, charming, loyal, friendly, hard-working, independent, energetic, subjective and self-centered.
He advises them not to go to funerals or wakes for the whole year, and to have a blood test or oral prophylaxis done at while 2014 is still starting to enhance their luck.
[T]here are many unlucky stars that are gathered under their sign and present in their life cycle in 2014, Chau's forecast reads in part.
More or less, they will be quite emotional and under stress at work. It is important that they know how to relax more and stay quiet for self-protection. On the other hand, they have to keep low profile and be patient to avoid unnecessary rumors and jealousy.
On the plus side, Horses will have a stable and satisfactory income, but they should still cut down their unnecessary expenditures and watch their expenses to avoid being over budget, it adds.
This is also one of the romantic years for Horses, the forecast says. Lovers should be patient with each other to reach a mutual understanding. Married Horses should keep away from temptation or they will face separation. They must be careful with the way they handle their relationship to avoid any conflict, especially in the lunar months of February, March, May, September and December.
Specific instructions aside, Chau's words mostly read like good advice for anyone, whether they're believers or not, whether they're Horses or not: Pay special attention to road safety, stay away from sharp objects and beware of problems with the eyes, heart, high blood pressure, stroke and cardiovascular system. BM, GMA News
Feng shui master Joseph Chau will help Mandarin Oriental Manila ring in the Chinese New Year on Jan. 30. The festivities will include Chau's energizing rituals, a lion and dragon dance, an eight-course lauriat dinner and the Grand Midnight Countdown to Jan. 31. Attendees will also have the chance to interact with Chau at a Q&A regarding his forecast.
Tickets are P3,288 each for adults and P1,688 for children, and are available at the Chinese New Year booth in Tin Hau, Mandarin Oriental.

Actress-Host Kris Aquino
MANILA It seems that host-actress Kris Aquino made the right decision to sacrifice her love life for the sake of her career and her two children.
Citing his chart readings, Hong Kong-based feng shui master Joseph Chau Kam Ching predicted that Aquinos love life will not be good in 2014, which is known in the Chinese calendar as the Year of the Wooden Horse.
Its not good, Chau told ABS-CBNnews.com and select members of the media during the Chinese New Year press conference of Mandarin Oriental Manila.
Given this, Chau encouraged the Kris TV host to do more exercise or engage in other activities that will keep her busy, noting that she will tend to have a lot of negative thoughts this year.
She has to do more exercise, not because shes fat, but because she is easy to she will have negative thinking. Shes more prone to negative thinking, he explained.
She should do something [to keep her busy] so shell have no time to think about nonsense things, he added.
Born on February 14, 1971, Aquino caused a buzz among Filipinos after crediting her showbiz success for 2013 to not having sex.
Last September, the host-actress said she would rather give up being in another relationship so she could have more time to take care of her two sons, Josh and Bimby.
Aquinos marriage to basketball star James Yap was annulled in 2012.

Theres a steely gleam in Esau Pritchetts eyes as he tells harrowing childhood stories. He keeps his cool, but theres a chilling sense of torture as his voice rises and tenses but never reaches a full outcry.
As Troy Maxson in Fences at the McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, Pritchett simmers, stretching to endure, until he has lost all he has cared about and only then do we see the full extent of his rage and his pain.
As the nucleus of director Phylicia Rashads perceptive production of August Wilsons Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning classic, Pritchett is emblematic of the powerful characters portrayed in finely calibrated performances by the full cast.
Set in Pittsburghs Hill District in 1957, the action takes place largely on the Maxsons porch, where Wilson probes family ties, economic hardship and racism endured to different degrees by different generations in a time of social change. Set design by John Iacovelli and costumes ESOSA vibrantly evoke the period.
The title refers most explicitly to a fence Troy and Cory have promised to build for Rose. As their friend Bono (a dynamic Phil McGlaston) says, some people build fences to keep people out and others, to keep people in. Rose wants to hold her family tightly close, Troy to keep out the threat of an enemy, in his mind, death.
Rose (played by the single-named actress Portia) has reason for concern. Troy wants his son Cory (Chris Myers) to be as different from him as possible with the exception of a having a loving wife and his approach to parenting can be brutal.
Once a Negro League baseball star born too early for the majors Troy is now a garbage collector. As played by Pritchett, he still has his old charm and bravado, which peek out from beneath a hardened, weary exterior.
Sharing his fathers athleticism, Cory has attracted the attention of a recruiter who has offered him a football scholarship which Troy refuses to let him accept, thinking he will be similarly shut out from professional opportunities.
Throughout the play, both swat at a makeshift baseball substitute hung from a tree they can swing for the fences, so to speak, with flawless aim, but their efforts go nowhere.
Myers physically embodies Corys early tentativeness, his shoulders slumping, intimidated at the sight of his father. In one of the most memorable scenes, he asks Troy, How come you aint never liked me?, a question met with what seems like cold puzzlement. Later, we see that the response comes from Troys desire to help his son to develop calluses, like his own, against harsh realities.

Demolition work continues on the former hospitality complex at Dunedin's Carisbrook yesterday.
The final stage of demolition started last week on the four-storey, concrete hospitality complex.
Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of March. Construction company Calder Stewart Ltd bought the site for $3.5 million from the Dunedin City Council last June, half the $7 million the council paid the Otago Rugby Football Union for the ground in 2009.
A fundraising project by Dunedin Rotary clubs, the Carisbrook Rotary Project, raised $200,000 through the sale of stadium turf, seating, signage and other memorabilia, Carisbrook Rotary Project committee member Lindsay Thorburn said yesterday.
The remaining rubble would be crushed into aggregate for future developments and the vacant site fenced off, Southern Demolition owner Alan Edge said.
The only reminder of the site's former sporting career will be the historic brick Neville St turnstile building, which is to be incorporated into a pocket park, as part of the redevelopment.

The family of the owner of the building housing Le Baril Bar at 35 Child Street in Coaticook obtained a stay of the demolition of the centenary edifice on Saturday in order to determine whether or not it could be saved. After an independent evaluation performed by engineers Monday morning, it was unanimously decided the demolition would go ahead as originally planned since renovations needed to put the building back in shape were extensive. This building is dangerous from a structural point of view, said Deputy Mayor, Luc Marcoux. We are concerned that the demolition of the house beside it will compromise its stability. This is the second building to be demolished in the Child St. portion of Coaticook after damages caused by last weeks Pratt Creek flood rendered them unsafe. The St-Pierre Excavation company is making final arrangements for the demolition which will take place as soon as everything is in place. Due to Monday mornings developments the press conference originally scheduled for Monday at 3 p.m. was canceled.
