The committee probing the Ain Dar wedding tragedy in Abqaiq will investigate the laxity of the Civil Defense, Saudi Electricity Co. and the Red Crescent in handling the accident, an informed source said. At a wedding party in Ain Dar in the Eastern Province, 26 people were electrocuted when a snapped high tension power cable fell over the building Tuesday. It was the local custom of shooting to celebrate wedding that caused the crash of the cable. Relatives of the victims complained about the failure of Civil Defense, the Saudi Electricity Co. and the Red Crescent to handle the situation professionally. This in turn led to the increase in the number of casualties, Al-Eqtisadiah daily reported. Eastern Province Gov. Prince Muhammad bin Fahd ordered a committee to investigate the tragedy. The charges under investigation, according to the source, include the delay of the Saudi Electricity Co. officials to arrive at the accident site. The relatives alleged that two hours after the accident an official of the electricity company arrived, but he did not do anything to disconnect the live cable that fell on the hall where there were 6,000 people present. The relatives said if the power supply was cut off immediately after the cable snapped the number of deaths would not have been this high. The relatives also alleged that the Civil Defense team that first arrived at the site was incapable of dealing with the situation.

The team was so unprofessional that they pumped water on the burning steel door, which had powerful electrical charge. The water made the situation extremely dangerous, the relatives of the victims said.

A MUM-of-two sheds almost two stone of SKIN a year due to a rare condition that makes the surface of her body like TISSUE PAPER.

Melanie Bradley suffers from Bullous Ichthyosis, a rare disorder which means she loses FOURTEEN times more skin per year than the average person.

And by a cruel twist of fate, Melanies 21-month-old daughter Rebecca has also now been diagnosed with the condition.

Melanie, from Atherstone, Greater Manchester, said: My skin sheds rapidly, so overnight I can shed the equivalent of what a person with ordinary skin sheds in two weeks.

Im covered in scales from head to toe. It can be so thick to the point where I can barely move, but at the same time its so delicate that the slightest knock can break the skin.

It can be quite awkward, because you leave a trail of skin behind you. A lot of vacuuming goes on in my house.

Medics gave Melanie a 50 per cent chance that her children might be born with Icthyosis, and although older sibling Daniel, three, was born free from the condition, his younger sister was not so lucky.

Melanie added: As soon as Rebecca was born it was obvious she had it. Id had an emergency C-section so didnt see her straight away, but I overheard the doctors discuss it and obviously I was devastated.

CHICAGO, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- President Obama wiped away tears while speaking to Chicago campaign staffers after he won re-election, telling them they provide him inspiration.

In a video posted to YouTube Thursday, Obama discussed his work as a community organizer in Chicago's South Side, saying the work he did changed him more than he changed communities, The Hill reported.

While talking to the staff, Obama can be seen wiping away tears several times and pausing as if he were trying to collect himself.

"You are so much better than I was, in so many ways. You're smarter, you're better organized and you're more effective. I'm absolutely confident that all of you are going to do just amazing things in your lives," Obama told the staff in the campaign-released video.

"And that's why even before last night's results, I felt that the work that I had done in running for office had come full circle. Because what you guys have done means that the work that I am doing is important."

In the video, which several media outlets said apparently was recorded Wednesday, Obama calls his campaign staff the source of his inspiration.

"The most important thing you need to know is that your journey is just beginning. You're just starting," he said. "And whatever good we do in the next four years will pale in comparison to what you guys end up accomplishing for years and years to come."
