Del Frisco's steakhouse coming to Chestnut Hill Mall

One of the best games in the past decade gets an even better 3DS release.

Cave Story, available as a 3DS eShop title, is the third version of the game to appear on Nintendo handhelds. The first was a DSiWare release of the original version of the game, and the second was the 2011 3D retail release. Both earlier versions of the game had their merits, but at this point, theyre just about worthless because Cave Story on the eShop is the definitive version (at least until they do some other re-release).

For the uninitiated, Cave Story was originally a freeware game made by Daisuke Pixel Amaya in 2004. It was beloved, and eventually Nicalis remade it for WiiWare and DSiWare in 2010. In 2011, Nicalis remade the game with 3D character models for a retail 3DS release and also released Cave Story+ on Steam, the latter of which is the basis for this new 3DS eShop release.

The game itself is comparable to seminal 2D works such as Metroid, though its story is a little more guided than that games. The hero has a variety of guns he can wield, and you learn a lot of fun combat and traversal tricks as you progress. The game features multiple endings, branching paths, and delightful 2D platforming gameplay. For anyone who has any interest in 2D platformers, you should have played this; if you havent, what are you waiting for?

On the eShop, Cave Story features the original versions graphics and music, but retains all the content (including the Wind Fortress and Curly Story) of the Cave Story+ Steam release. A few more additions sweeten the pot, including optional widescreen graphics, customizable controls, and wonderful stereoscopic 3D backgrounds. Still, there isnt really anything new or unique to this version outside of some bells and whistles.

The use of 3D is masterful, as there are multiple layers of depth that make the simplistic 2D game look full of life. It might not add anything to the gameplay, but the 3D straight up makes Cave Story a better experience. The widescreen graphics, which fill out the top screen, are similarly effective.

Even without any additions, Cave Story is still the same amazing game people have raved about for eight years. Its one of the best 2D platformers in recent memory, and this version is worthwhile if youve never played it before or are itching for a reason to play it again.

THE WOODLANDS The development of Research Forest Lakeside is moving along with Building 4 and a parking garage well under construction on the 77-acre site.

Warmack Investments is developing Research Forest Lakeside, a project that will consist of 11 Class A office buildings situated along the banks of Lake Woodlands for a total of 1.9 million square feet in office space. Also included on the site will be 36,000 square feet of retail space on the corner of Research Forest Drive and Lakeside Boulevard.

Building 4, James Warmack said, will be 12-story Class A office building with 300,000 square feet.

(The interior) is a combination of granite, limestone, glass and wood, he said. It will be very elegant.

The Woodlands-based Talisman Energy, which occupies Building 2, will move into the top six floors of Building 4 when it is complete, Warmack said. As for the rest of the building, he has not inked any leases but has had a great deal of interest in the space. The building is expected to be ready for move-in around May 2013.

Im very happy with the level of interest, he said. I dont think we will have any issues getting these buildings leased out.

The campus already is home to two Aon Hewitt buildings (1 and 3).

According to Warmack, his Colorado Springs, Colo.-based company acquired the property when it bought Hewitts real estate portfolio in 2005.

Construction on Building 5 will begin in March 2013 and will be eight stories with 200,000 square feet of office space. According to Warmack, Repsol USA will occupy the entire building.

Buildings 4, 5 and the seven-story parking garage will all be centered around a halo that will allow people to walk from the garage to the buildings under a covered walkway.

McDermott Cuts Ribbon on New Washington, D.C. Office Building

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Connecting the downtown business district with The Banks could be a reality sooner than later.

The City of Cincinnati is hoping to install decks over Fort Washington Way between Elm Street and Main Street for the development. The city, along with non-profit and corporate support is announcing a national design competition, "Connect the Blocks," to establish a vision for the decks over Fort Washington Way.

A grocery store, skate board park and music amphitheatre are just some of the ideas generated by the public to transform Ft. Washington Way between the downtown business district and the Banks.

Elizabeth Wetzel is a project coordinator for the city manager's office, her job is to find the vision for the project and get the public's feedback.

"People had some really constructive and creative ideas, there was definitely some things to consider," said Wetzel. "All kinds of things that would draw younger people, kind of the 14-22 demographic, like a skate park, soccer field other recreational activities."

The pile foundations for the decks were originally constructed during the improvements made to Fort Washington Way in the early 2000s, through a $10 million investment from the City of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, and private investors. Now, the City seeks to develop on those foundations.

In a press release, City Manager Milton Dohoney says a vision must first been created, then the city can move forward.

"The Banks is well underway, downtown is growing, and now we must begin thinking about what we as a community want to see over Fort Washington Way to connect downtown and the riverfront," said Dohoney.

The City will conduct a Call for Entries in a national design competition for design, architectural, and engineering experts to create design concepts and cost estimates for the decks over Fort Washington Way between Elm Street and Main Street. Local professionals will act as judges in the competition. Monetary stipends will be awarded to between three and five finalists to further refine their designs.

Construction crews will close a section of South Lieser Road in Vancouver on Tuesday, according to the citys public works department. The closure will allow workers to install new public sewer lines.

The work will close Lieser between St. Helens Avenue and Southeast Middle Way, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the city. Detour signs will help direct traffic around the closure.

The installation is part of a Linwood Heights project through Vancouvers Sewer Connection Incentive Program, which aims to make public sewers available to residents now connected to private septic systems. The city hired contractor RC Northwest Inc. of Brush Prairie for the job.

Commuters are encouraged to avoid the area if possible on Tuesday, as delays are possible. Drivers who pass through nearby neighborhood streets should use caution, according to the city.

Construction to close section of S. Lieser Road

A family that owns property in Angel Fire has dropped a lawsuit it filed against the village of Angel Fire earlier this year for allegedly requiring the family to spend money to connect to an inoperable sewer system.

Rush Family Limited Partnership No. 2 filed the lawsuit in the Eighth Judicial District Court in Raton May 22 and dismissed the complaint Aug. 30.

Plaintiff no longer wishes to pursue this matter against defendant and gives notice of its voluntary dismissal with prejudice, the notice of dismissal states.

Angel Fire Mayor Barbara Cottam would not say whether the village planned to settle the lawsuit out of court. She directed questions about the lawsuit to the villages attorney Joseph F. Canepa of Canepa and Vidal, PA in Santa Fe, who did not immediately respond to a telephone message from the Sangre de Cristo Chronicle Tuesday (Sept. 11).

The Rush familys complaint alleges that on Aug. 21, 2009, the village issued a statement indicating that sewer service was available at the familys residential lot at 44 Beaver Loop in the Valley of the Utes subdivision. From September 2009 to June 2011, it states, the village billed the family for sewer availability.

On Jan. 27, 2010, the complaint states, the village issued a memorandum stating that the family would be required to install a grinder pump and other equipment to accommodate the municipal sewer utility. The memorandum stated that the family must use the municipal sewer system to manage liquid waste from the Beaver Loop home.

Plaintiff justifiably relied on Defendants series of negligent misrepresentations and proceeded to design and placed the house on the lot without consideration of locating a gravity septic system, the complaint states. Instead Plaintiff installed the specific sewage treatment system that would connect to the Defendants municipal sewage utility and thereafter completed landscaping on the surface of the lot.

But after the home was built, the complaint states, the village issued a letter in the spring of 2011 stating that the house could not be connected to the municipal sewage system. The family was then forced to remove landscaping, install a pump-operated septic system uphill from the house, and re-landscape the scarring left by the installation process, it states.

Plaintiff unnecessarily spent time and money installing a sewage system and line to connect to the nonexistent sewer line of the village, the complaint states.

The complaint states that the Rush family was seeking monetary damages to be determined at trial, including compensatory and consequential damages, statutory damages, and such other relief deemed proper by the court.
