NoTrax's New 194 Safety Message and 195 Slogan Mats
CHICAGO (PRWEB) August 13, 2020
NoTrax, a global leader in floor matting products, announces the launch of the new 194 Safety Message and 195 Slogan Mats, attention-grabbing floor mats with pre-printed messages. These dynamic mats also clean dirt and moisture from shoes and keep facilities cleaner and safer while reinforcing work safety reminders and boosting morale.
As more businesses search for ways to operate while keeping employees safe, the 194 Safety and 195 Slogan Mats effectively convey the proper safety recommendations outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Mark McElhinny, the President and CEO of the Justrite Safety Group, the parent company of NoTrax, said the 194 Safety Message Mats are a quick and effective solution to implement a work environment that promotes personal hygiene and social distancing.
Workplaces typically have safety signs in place to draw attention to fire exits and potential hazards, but they are often small and easily overlooked, said McElhinny. Printing safety warnings onto a mat is a highly visible solution that can be used to preemptively warn employees and visitors of important safety information.
To help boost morale or to just interject a bit of fun in the workplace, the 195 Slogan Mats feature encouraging messages and positive sentiments that both customers and employees will appreciate seeing throughout the day.
This is especially important amid a public health crisis where social distancing can make people feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety, said a recent CDC study.
Working during a pandemic poses not just physical risks to ones health, but the stress of working and living through it can cause strong emotions, says McElhinny, Letting your employees and customers know that you have their safety in mind and well wishes will create a positive environment.
Both mats are made from a high-quality fiber with a heavy-duty vinyl backing that creates surface friction. They effectively absorb dirt and moisture and are slip-resistant on smooth floors such as wood, marble, tile, or concrete. The mats go through a deep dye-injection process to produce vibrant, highly visible colors and graphics that are fade-resistant.
Both the 194 Safety and 195 Slogan Mats are available in 3 x 5 feet or 4 x 6 feet sizes.
As we continue to develop safety products to help businesses navigate their way through this pandemic, our message mats make it easier to keep the workplace safer and in compliance with safety protocol outlined by the CDC, said McElhinny.
About NoTrax:NoTrax is a global leader in manufacturing a range of ergonomic, entrance, anti-fatigue, and safety mats for industrial, commercial, and foodservice environments. Today, NoTrax is recognized as one of the largest integrated manufacturers of floor matting products in the world. Based in Bedford Park, Illinois, NoTrax manufactures its own products in ISO certified facilities and offers global distribution capabilities with distribution centers throughout the United States and in Europe. NoTrax is a subsidiary of the Justrite Safety Group.

(Pocket-lint) - Not many saw it coming, but Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has been one of the gaming sensations of 2020.
Available on PC and PS4, the latter as part of August's PS Plus free game line-up, the indie hit has even become one of Twitch's most streamed games - easily beating the likes of Fortnite and FIFA.
But what is Fall Guys, how do you play it and why has it become such a massive success (so much so that the online servers went down often during its initial days due to overload)?
We've been playing it regulalry since launch to give you the answers, plus tips and tricks to help you qualify on each level.
Fall Guys is a fun and friendly, multiplayer online battle royale-style game for young and old. It seems to be loosely based on TV shows like Takeshi's Castle and Total Wipeout, where the object is to navigate obstacles or survive long enough in mini-games in order to qualify for later levels.
It starts with up to 60 online players on level one, with a number of players being eliminated each round until a final level with only a handful competiting to be the overall winner.
Winning awards crowns, which can be then traded for ultra rare costume items or emotes, while every other competitor also earns in-game currency (Kudos) which can be swapped for other costumes, etc. The futher you get in the game, the more Kudos you receive.
There are also experience points awarded, which give you extra items and skins as you level up.
The game runs on seasons, with new items and awards being refreshed once over. You also get the choice of different colour schemes for your Fall Guy, costumes or emotes every 24 hours.
One huge benefit to Fall Guys is that it is suitable for all age groups. It has PEGI 3 rating and no way to communicate inside the game apart from cute emote animations.
Experienced players can all communicate through the PS4 Party Chat function (for example), but if a kid is playing, they will have a safe environment to do so, with little toxic behaviour in-game.
This is meant to be fun, rather than overly competitive. Even when you fail to qualify, you can start a new round almost instantly.
Fall Guys is currently available for PlayStation 4 and PC (through Steam). There is talk about releasing versions for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and even mobile, but no confirmed plans as yet.
Fall Guys levels are split into four categories: race, survival, team and final.
There were 24 levels launched on day one, with another added with the games first major patch in August. Here are those levels and tips on how to qualify/win in each.
Dizzy Heights
This is a simple race level with spinning platforms to leap onto. The best tip we can give here is make sure you leap just before the "bumper" at the edge of each disc, so that momentum takes you onto the next.
Door Dash
One of our favourite levels. You have to bash through doors, but some of them are fake and you just bounce off them. The best tip here, therefore, is to avoid blindy running at doors and hang back a few beats in order to let other hapless fools find out the right path to take. Also, don't jump through the doors, dive instead. That way you won't be bashed by other players jumping and are more likely to be flung forwards than back.
Fruit Chute
Like many of the race games, this is fairly simple. Just avoid the giant fruit cascading down the mountain. Our tip is to stay fairly central and jump over the rolling log when needed - that seems to have worked most often for us.
Gate Crash
Gate Crash is different to door dash as the gates move up and down, so timing is key. Again, it's a race to the end but you have to ensure you don't get stuck behind gates for long. It's also worth noting that some gates move more slowly than the others, so keep away from those. And don't forget to jump at the end of the slime slide to get through the last gate - there's a hole you fall down otherwise.
Hit Parade
Hit Parade is another simple race game with a couple of obstacles that seem to trick players unless they know what they are doing. First, there are turnstiles that are easy if you follow everyone else... we suggest heading to the left set of turnstiles and pushing to the right of them so they turn anti-clockwise. Also, when you get to the wrecking balls, just stay completely central on the path and time your runs carefully. Finally, stay to the far left or right when running up the slime hill, as obstacles can't get you there.
See Saw
Another of our absolutel favourites and one level we've come first in more than once. It helps if you are out in the front pack, as the see saws will be mostly static when you get to them, but remember to try to stay central on each see saw (near the white line) if possible, and always run and jump to the static platforms when the see saw is at its highest - you can miss and fall otherwise. If you do find yourself further back, instead of jumping between see saws, dive. That way you are less likely to fall and roll off.
Slime Climb
In our opinion, this is the hardest of the race games. A lake of slime is rapidly rising, so you have to navigate the obstacles and outrun it at the same time. What's most irritating is that other players can get in the way. Some tactics are to use the bumpers at the beginning as platforms and the "grab" button to lift yourself onto the second climb section to speed things up.
The Whirlygig
This is especially tricky for new players. As well as spinning bars that you have to leap over, there is a mandatory wall climb midway on the level. It's possible to jump on one of a couple of yellow blocks and then again on the raised platform, but we suggest using the "grab" mechanic to climb straight up as it's less fiddly and quicker.
Tip Toe
Tip Toe is quite simply a pain in the posterior. There is only one true path through the tiles in front of you, but you don't initially know what it is. The rest of the tiles disappear underfoot when you tread on them. Basically, let others make those mistakes, but try to keep as close to the leading pack as possible so you can continue on the right path. Also, try not to stand on the edge of the correct tiles as others will push you off. And don't forget to jump from the last tile to the finishing line - there is a gap.
Block Party
This is a simple game where blocks will come towards you over the horizon line and you have to avoid them, or they will knock you off the platform and eliminate you. We tend to find it's best to first stay central, move as necessary, and then head back to the central position as you can go as easily left and right as necessary. Warning though, some block formations can only be avoided by jumping over or diving underneath them.
Jump Club
This is mindbogglingly simple. You start on a large disc and two bars rotate around it, knocking anyone over who gets caught by them. Many run around like loons on this level, to hilarious effect. However, the best tip is stay exactly where you are and just jump over the faster bar when needed. Far more often than not, you'll qualify.
Jump Showdown (new)
We haven't yet see this game in circulation, but it is almost identical to Jump Club. The difference is that you won't be able to stay where you stand because, as well as the rotating bars, segments of the platform disappear at times.
Perfect Match
This is a simple memory game. You will be shown which fruit each tile represents and then one will flash up on the screens around you. Just make sure you're standing on the right tile when the time runs out. More fruit are added each round, but we find standing in one stop and surveying first is much better than scurrying about like a maniac.
Roll Out
Like Block Party, the aim here is to avoid being pushed off the edge by obstacles, but this time the entire platform rotates, with different segements moving in different directions. Our best tip is to keep moving between the two segments on the furthest edges - either left or right.
Tail Tag
There are few tips for this and it's one of our least favourite mini-games to be honest. Some of the players start with a tail, some don't. The aim of the game is to ensure you have a tail before the time runs out.
Egg Scramble
We're not really fans of team games, as qualification is in the hands of others, not just ourselves. However, Egg Scramble is one of those games where you can have more affect on the outcome. After the initial dash to grab an egg and store it in your respective home, some teammates - if not all - will likely head to rival "nests" to steal eggs. We find it's therefore worth hanging out in our own, grabbing any prospective egg thieves from other teams.
Fall Ball
Of all the team games, this is our favourite. It's essentially Rocket League without the cars. Two balls will appear on the pitch and you have to guide them in your rival team's net. There are a few good tips here. If someone on your team hasn't already, considering being the goalkeeper and standing just outside your net, ready to head balls away when they get near (by jumping just as they get near you). Alternatively, stay in the centre circle, but just in your own half a touch so the balls appearing overhead shoot towards the rival end when they hit your noggin.
Hoarders
Hoarders is a cross between Egg Scramble and Fall Ball, but this time you have to ensure that more balls are in your zone when the time runs out (or, at least, you don't have the fewest). As far as we can tell, this is a free-for-all and we've struggled to find tactics that make it any more than random.
Hoopsie Daisy
Set in the same arena as Jinx (below) and the tag games, hoops will appear that you have to dive or jump through. The team who jumps through the most progresses. Our tactic in this one is to pretty much stay in the same small zone, as hoops reappear regularly. If you dash around looking for hoops, it's likely someone will get there first.
Jinx
Jinx is not great, to be honest. It's another game of tag but this time you become "infected" as soon as another player on a rival team touches you. If you have the lurgy, you have to try to touch as many rivals as you can too. The team that has one "unjinxed" member standing wins. It's generally chaos and random, we find.
Rock 'N' Roll
Rock 'N' Roll is another fun team game. Three teams have to push their own respective balls down a course and then into a hole at the end. The team that does so last is eliminated. Two tips: try to push your ball either far left or far right at the start, moving more central after the first few obstacles; and don't, whatever you do, leave your team and head to the bottom to try to stop the other teams' ball. More pushers mean the ball runs more quickly, while we've never seen a blocker successfully stop an opponent's ball.
Team Tail Tag
This is exactly like solo Tail Tag (above), but this time the team with the least amount of tails "grabbed" by the end is eliminated. It is likewise a random free-for-all.
Fall Mountain
Fall Mountain is a fun race, with similar obstacles as other rounds, but this time the aim is to "grab" the crown at the end to be the overall winner. Our biggest tip here is, if you get there first, don't forget to use the grab button as you jump to touch the crown. Just touching it doesn't work.
Hex-A-Gone
We're quite proud that we've won a few times in Fall Guys and it's all down to Hex-A-Gone. As you touch each hex tile, it disappears, leaving yourself or rivals to fall to the layer below. Eventually, the layers run out and all that hit the slime at the bottom are eliminated. Our tip here is to make sure you run around each layer a couple of hexagons inside the perimeter. preparing to jump to the nearest cluster as you get near gaps. Don't run around the outside as you can sometimes fall a couple of laters at a time. And, if you can, jump from the hexagon you start on to another nearby as it uses up some valuable seconds.
Royal Fumble
The final, final game is Royal Fumble - yet another tail grab. Basically, one of the finalists starts with the tail and the others have to chase and grab it from him or her. The one with the tail at the end of the time limit is the winner. There's nowhere to hide, so there's not much strategy to it, to be honest. Just pure luck.

A savvy mother-of-two has revealed how she transformed her empty courtyard into a stylish boho-chic patio.
Nicola French, 38, from London, told LatestDeals.co.uk that she created the relaxing outdoor space for only 116 using a stencil and paint and completed the whole project by hand.
The single mother, who works as a lunch supervisor at a special needs school, saidshed always liked the bohemian and Moroccan style and used lockdown to build a patio that would combine the two.
She added that using a 37 stencil and a 3.50 stencil brush took three days and was much more affordable than buying new tiles.
Ive always been into the boho-chic and Moroccan style so I thought I would try and combine the two, she explained.
The first thing I did was jet wash the patio, removing any dirt and letting it dry.
Then by hand, using a large paintbrush and the white masonry paint, I painted the patio tiles, waited for that to dry, applied a second coat then placed the stencil at my starting place.
Nicola went on to highlight the importance of taping the stencil using masking tape to help hold it in place and says she started from the corner of her alleyway.
Taking a little of the black masonry paint, a piece of cardboard to remove any excess paint from the stencil brush and a stencil brush in a stabbing motion, I applied the paint to the stencil and filled in the pattern, then removed the stencil, she continued.
I matched up the pattern from my stencil onto the next tile and repeated the process.
She advised making sure the stencil brush was touch dry in order to avoid any paint bleed.
Once completed, and when the patio is dry, apply a clear paint sealant using a paintbrush to seal the paint and protect it from wear and tear, she added.
Nicola told how she ordered all of her materials online during lockdown.
The paint brand is Sandtex, but you can use any masonry paint, and it cost 46 for both black and white paint from B&Q, she said.
The stencil was 37 from Dizzy Duck Designs, the stencil brush was 3.50 from Amazon and the patio sealer was 30 from eBay.
I had the outdoor furniture from Next, cushions from Etsy, buddhas from Wayfair and table lamp from eBay already as I have been building up the collection over time.
For a brand new patio, it worked out at 116 way more affordable than new tiles.
Nicola added she was delighted with her patios stunning transformation and said that despite the challenges of the project, she thoroughly enjoyed the process.
As a family, we do have some challenges, Nicola added.
My son has severe autism. I also have a daughter and Im a single parent, so the garden really has helped provide a lovely space we can all enjoy.
She said she took on the project on her own, and that it helped her stay sane during the lockdown, just having something to work on and make beautiful in a time of uncertainty.
The painting and stencilling took three days, but that was single-handed if you can get other people to help, it would obviously be a quicker process, she added.
Ive really enjoyed every moment. Yes, it was backbreaking work but it was so worth it. The kids and I love it!
Anybody could create something like this too you dont have to be DIY- minded! Just brave.
Tom Church, co-founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented: Nicolas patio looks like it has walked straight off the pages of an interiors magazine its amazing to think it cost her just 116.
There are loads of online tutorials on YouTube and Instagram for copying this kind of look as Nicola says, you dont need to be a pro at DIY: just be brave and take the time to give it a go.

Windows 10s 20H2 update will debut in the second half of 2020likely in October or November. This update is focused on bug and performance fixes, but it has some larger changeslike the removal of the System Control Panel.
This article is up-to-date with the latest changes as of Windows 10 Insider build 19042.450, which was released on August 11, 2020.
Windows 10s 20H2 update does offer some notable changesthe classic System pane in the Control Panel is vanishingbut mostly features smaller changes. Thats very exciting.
Sure, we had a smaller update last year with 19H2 (the November 2019 Update) followed by a larger update with 20H1 (the May 2020 Update). But Microsoft insisted that there was no plan to do a small update followed by a large update each year. This time around, 20H2 easily could have been another big release packed full of features. Instead, Microsoft is taking the existing 20H1 update and polishing it even further.
This update should be plenty stable because of all that effort going into polishing and bug-fixing. Thats good news for Windows 10 users.
Thats our Microsoft-to-English translation of whats going on, anyway. Heres how Microsoft phrases it: Windows 10 version 20H2 will offer a scoped set of features to improve performance and enhance quality.
This update will be fast to install, just like 19H2 was. If youre already running the May 2020 Update (20H1), installing it will be as fast as installing a normal monthly updateno long download or lengthy reboot required.
In this version of Windows, the classic System page in the Control Panel has been removed. When you try to open it, youll be taken to the About page in the new Settings app.
This isnt as big a deal as it sounds. All the information found in the Settings pane in Control Panel is available in the Settings app. Theres a convenient Copy button to copy all the text to your clipboard, and youll even find buttons for opening advanced system settings like BitLocker settings and Device Manager at the bottom of the page.
This is just another step in Microsofts long, slow process of slowly phasing out the Control Panel. The Control Panel wont vanish any time soon, thoughit has too many useful options and Microsoft is migrating them to the new Settings app very slowly.
RELATED: Don't Worry: Windows 10's Control Panel Is Safe (For Now)
Microsoft is proud that this is the first version of Windows 10 with the new, Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser included.
Thats not necessarily big newsWindows Update may already have installed the new Microsoft Edge on your system, anyway. The new Edge has also been available to download from the web since January 15, 2020. But, with this release, its official: The new Edge replaces the old Edge in the baseline version of Windows 10.

Microsoft is expanding the Your Phone app with more features designed for select Samsung devices. If you have one of these phones, you can now access your phones Android apps directly on your Windows 10 PC. Theyll be running on your phone but you can launch, see, and interact with them on your Windows 10 desktop.
Microsoft may release this feature early to 20H1 and other versions of Windows 10. For now, its only available in Insider builds of 20H2 and newer builds of Windows 10.
In the future, Microsoft says it will go even further:
Later in the year, Samsung Galaxy Note20 users will experience the power and convenience of running multiple apps side by side and we will continue to work with Samsung to bring this feature to additional devices. Apps will launch in separate windows enabling you to interact with multiple apps at the same time.
Microsofts website offers more information about the Apps feature, including a full list of supported devices that can use the Apps feature.

The Start menu is getting theme-aware tiles. Now, the tile background will be light or dark to match whichever Windows 10 theme youre usinglight or dark.
Previously, the Start menu used your accent color, which means the default Windows 10 theme used a variety of blue icons on a blue background. The shift to using standard theme colors means Windows 10s new application icons look better in the Start menu.
You can still get those tiles that match your theme back, howeverjust head to Settings > Personalization > Color and enable the accent color on Start, taskbar, and action center.

Windows 10 now shows browser tabs in your Alt+Tab switcherif you use Edge. Instead of just showing one Edge thumbnail for each browser window, youll see a number of different tabs in the Alt+Tab switcher. So, if youre using several web pages at once, you can quickly find and switch between them just with Alt+Tab.
If you dont like this, thats fineits configurable. Head to Settings > System > Multitasking and you configure Alt+Tab to show your most recent three or five tabsor turn it off completely and get a more classic Alt+Tab experience.
Presumably, other browsers like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox could choose to integrate with the Alt+Tab switcher in the future and show browser tabs, too. After all, the new Edge shares its open-source Chromium codebase with Google Chrome.
RELATED: Windows 10 Will Soon Show Edge Browser Tabs in Alt+Tab
Microsoft has been making pinned sites on the taskbar work better, too. When you pin a website to your taskbar using Microsoft Edge, you can now click (or mouse-over) that taskbar icon to see all your browser tabs for that website.
So, if you pin Gmail to your taskbar in Edge and you have Gmail tabs open in several browser windows, you can click the Gmail icon to find themeven if theyre buried in other Edge browser windows.

If youve used Windows 10s Focus Assist featurewhich automatically hides notifications while youre playing games and using other full-screen applications, among other tasksyoull probably notice that it can be really noisy.
In the spirit of not bugging you with notifications, Focus Assist pops up to show you a notification that hey, its not going to show you any notifications! And, when youre done with your focused activity, Focus Assist pops up a summary of all the notifications it didnt show you. Its pretty distracting.
Now, Microsoft is disabling all these Focus Assist notifications by default, although you can still re-enable them in Settings.
RELATED: How to Disable Windows 10's Annoying Focus Assist Notifications
When you detached a keyboard on a 2-in-1 device, a notification popped up and asked you if you wanted to enable tablet mode. Now, Windows will automatically switch to the new tablet experience added in the May 2020 Update without the prompt or notification.
You can change what happensfor example, to prevent Windows 10 from entering tablet mode automaticallyby heading to Settings > System > Tablet.

As usual, Microsoft is also fixing a wide variety of smaller performance and stability issues under the hood.

The Floyd County Jail's medical wing renovation has reached its halfway point as workers finish up pouring the entire concrete slab for the floors.
Now that the section of the jail has been gutted, they'll begin building it back up. Floyd County Sheriff's Office Major and jail administrator Bob Sapp said they're currently working on removing all of the old fire proofing and insulation from the old unit.
"We had to remove about 6,500 square feet of this stuff off the high metal ceilings that is up in the infrastructure of the facility," Sapp said. "The vendors are now spreading back in and once that process is completed, we'll be able to lay (reinforcing bar) in and metal studs and putting up block walls."
The 2017 special purpose local option sales tax project has gone very smoothly so far, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
While they're putting up the walls, they'll begin incorporating the mechanical, electrical and plumbing parts of the project.
"After that, we'll get into looking into priming all the block and painting," Sapp said.
At the same time, the mixed crews of Carroll Daniel construction workers and inmate workers will begin installing low-voltage wiring in the facility for security controls, such as cameras and door locks. They will then connect the wiring back to the jail's central control network for emergency situations.
Once the wall blocks are up, they'll begin putting metal framing above the cells and install frames within the block to put heavy duty glass in place so that staff can keep an eye on inmates while they're in the infirmary cells. After they finish this installation, they'll start putting down anti-bacterial flooring in the cells.
The medical wing will have about 12 to 16 beds once completed. The rest of the beds promised in the SPLOST project will be a part of phase II construction, where staff will be building a mental health wing with 40 to 45 suicide-resistant beds for inmates.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the construction crews have remained unaffected by it. Crew members' temperatures are taken twice a day and they wear masks while on the job.
Maj. Sapp expects the project to reach substantial completion by late November. This means that they'll begin using the wing for inmates, but they will also be checking to see what works and what doesn't work in the wing. The final completion should be done by the end of December.

Berlins creative spirit is hard to beat down.
Despite a lockdown and a summer without the usual carousel of art events and DJ sets at nightclubsone of the German capitals main drawsthe city is finding ways to keep its cultural pulse alive in imaginative ways. And now, one of Berlins most renowned collections, the Boros Foundation, is partnering up with its most famous nightclub, Berghain.
This novel collaboration, called Studio Berlin, will launch on September 9 in the midst of the annual Berlin Art Week and on the eve of the citys Gallery Weekend. The works of 80 contemporary artists, including major names like Olafur Eliasson, Cyprien Gaillard, Wolfgang Tillmans, Rosemarie Trockel, and Isa Genzken, will be on view at the club. The exhibition will sprawl over Berghains three main dance floors and will maintain a focus on artists who live and work in Berlinat least some of the time.
The joint effort is an attempt to support both the nightclub scene and the citys many artists, both of which havesuffered under the lockdown and resulting economic slump. Nightclubs may have to increasingly dream up alternative models for engaging the public; in Germany, all of its renowned party locations have been closed since mid-March. Amid a steeply rising number of infectionsin the country, reopening is unlikely to come anytime soon.
Studio Berlin will cast a wide net in terms of styles, spanning photography, sculpture, painting, multimedia installations, and sound pieces. Alongside blue-chip artists, the show will also include a younger generation of stars like Anne Imhof, Klara Lidn, Robin Rhode, Rirkrit Tiravanija and Raphaela Vogel, who all partially or fully reside in the German capital.(The full artist list is set to be released on Friday, August 14.)
This is not the first time that Berghain hasbranched into visual art. Artists like Norbert Bisky and Wolfgang Tillmans have commissions on view there, though the works are rarely documented, given the clubs strict no-photo policy. Since the lockdown, the club has also hosted a few events, including a sound installation by artists Sam Auinger and Hannes Strobl, under the creative name TamTam, with full social distancing in effect.
Berlin has the highest density of ateliers, studios, and art workshops in Europeartists from all over the world move to the German capital to work, the Studio Berlin website states. The Boros collection declined a request for comment ahead of the artist release on Friday.
The clubs notoriously strict door policy is not likely to be loosened upif only due to strictly enforced health measures. Guided tours in several languages may be be booked online. The project is being support by the Boros Foundation and by the Berlin Senate.

Within each flooring product type, there exists a myriad of surface textures, color choices and quality levels, as well as collection upon collection of product with intriguing names like Accord, Hydroment Vivid, VersaBond and Blue Emotion, among others. Other product names are more grounded in familiarity and longevity like the well-known Congoleum brand.
Following are a few market observations on several of the flooring types analyzed in this report.
Flooring products are among the most important building materials and constitutes a versatile market with a wide product portfolio. The flooring market is expected to expand significantly due to strong growth of construction and automotive sectors coupled with increases in home improvement and renovation project activities. The demand for various residential flooring materials is expected to increase considerably in the forecast period. Increasing residential construction and reconstructionactivities in North America is one of the major factors fueling the demand for residential flooring in this region. However, in recent times regulations have been issued against import of lumber due to illegal deforestation. This is one of the primary factors restraining the residential flooring market.
The hardwood flooring products remain popular despite the advent of a large number of cheaper flooring products such as laminates and resilient flooring. Easy cleaning, better strength and durability, better acoustics and presence of large number of varieties are some of the major factors fueling the demand for hardwood flooring products. Owing to these factors, hardwood flooring is one of the primary choices for a large number of residential constructions.

Vinyl flooring is the fastest growing product category, growing at a CAGR of 7.4% between 2016 and 2021. Although vinyl tile floor is often installed in commercial settings where high traffic is a constant, or where a clean or staticfree environment is desired, it is also a versatile and costeffective choice for any household. Moreover, lower maintenance cost is also one of the primary factors expected to drive the demand for vinyl flooring in the coming years.
In terms of value chain, a high degree of backward integration is being witnessed in the flooring market. Several key players are engaged in the manufacture of raw materials. Amoco, a subsidiary of Shaw Industries, is actively involved in the manufacture of fiber. Amoco manufactures polypropylene fibers, which are used by Shaw Industries to manufacture carpets and rugs. Besides being a key player in the hardwood flooring market, Boral Limited is involved in the timber business. Burke Industries Inc., a major rubber manufacturing company based in California, is owned by Mannington Mills, one of the largest flooring manufacturers in North America.

New health and safety protocols required new investments in infrastructure across campusPhoto/Mike Lovett
Brandeis University main entrance
By Julian Cardillo '14Aug. 11, 2020
As part of the campus preparedness project, Brandeis has made significant investments ahead of the fall semester: signage, the landscape, workspaces, classrooms, and building heating and ventilation systems, all aimed at enhancing health and safety for the campus community during the remainder of the pandemic.
A mixture of minor construction, maintenance work, and installations have occurred throughout spring and summer in preparation for the safe restart of university activities.
Signage
Brandeis installed new indoor and outdoor signage at locations throughout campus to clearly message the importance of health safety. The signage includes posters at building entries with reminders about submitting health assessments, lawn signs and pathway stickers with a variety of messages about wearing masks, message boards at every campus entry with a list of health safety rules, room maximum occupancy signs, and six-feet distancing floor stickers in every building.

Outdoors
Large tents have been installed on the Great Lawn and outside Skyline and the Usdan Student Center to provide more common space on campus. Most of the tents have been furnished and will primarily serve as relief space for the library and overflow space for dining halls, and secondarily as programmed space for classes and events.
Additional tent locations at Slosberg and Goldman-Schwartz are planned as well.
Adirondack chairs have been installed across campus to promote spending more time outside.
Social distancing circles have been installed on Chapels Field, adding a new option for community members to come together in groups.
Classrooms and Workspaces

Some furniture has been removed from classrooms, dining areas and work spaces to de-densify the classroom in accordance with state public health guidelines.
HVAC
Engineers have assessed the majority of campus buildings this summer to confirm that heating and cooling systems are working as designed and to identify measures for increasing outside air in order to noticeably improve air circulation and quality such as increased frequency of routine maintenance, audit of preventive maintenance, upgraded filters, repair of existing deficiencies, and increasing outside air levels.
Two new respiratory units have been installed in Golding Health Center, effectively splitting the facility in half.
The new respiratory units operate on their own air handling systems, which have a dedicated exhaust thats separate from the rest of the health center.

German painter Katharina Grosse was in the middle of installing one of her largest shows to date, at the prestigious Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin, when the lockdown threw the museums schedule into disarray.
Luckily for Grosse, she had been given the keys to the (now considerably quieter) museum, located just a stones throw from her studio. She embraced the unexpected delay; by the time the doors finally reopened, her technicolor paintings had found their way onto the exterior gallery walls and across the floors, where a titanic, carved installation curled up toward the roof.
Grosses works often resemble smashes of color that lick the architecture of white cubes or land on felled trees and wind-torn houses with a boundless energy that is undeniably her own. On the other side of the ocean, at the Baltimore Museum of Art, where Grosse opened a show earlier this year, her vibrant curtains gently undulate, dropping down from the ceiling to create small, mountainous color fields inside the gallery.
These two major projects may be complete, but the artist isnt taking a break. She was working in her glass and concrete studio when we met last week, looking over small models for her upcoming exhibitions at Berlins Galerie Knig at the end of October and Gagosians Rome space in November. When those shows are over, she said, she will retreat to her third studio on a cliffside in New Zealand.
Grosse spoke to Artnet News about the hidden benefits of pulling together a blockbuster under lockdown, why she doesnt mind her work being looked at online, and why giant splashes of color can be food for thought.

You made your current exhibition, It Wasnt Us at the Hamburger Bahnhof, in the middle of lockdown. What was that experience like?
The show was complex because of the travel restrictions. I have never worked like that, with another studio that was pre-carving the whole piece near Hannover. We cut it with a hot wire there and then once again here [in Berlin]. And we made sure that all the different components got shipped well before the lockdown. In the end, we had more time on our hands than we thought, and that was really good for the show.
We had an additional week to build the work and then I had another week more to paint it. After that, there was a moment when we were not sure when or if the show was going to open at all, and that was interesting because I [stopped working] within a [specific] time frame. It really was like studio work. I was able to come and go as I pleased, in and out of the museum, because nothing else was going on at that time. I could really bring everything to a point where I was satisfied.
Your work is very considerate of its environment. What kinds of sites and spaces most interest you?
The work that I do tends to take up space that is not traditional museum space. Its good when these pieces are placed in the middle of some sort of crisis, which I do not mean as a negative word, but rather as a position where things can tip and transform from one situation to another. The hierarchy of the location is usually somehow fragileit can be swiveled around, depending on the work.
For my project in the Rockaways in 2016, for example, I painted a beach house that was formerly a military barrack, filled with sand from Hurricane Sandy. There was a certain unclarity as to whether the house was disappearing under the sand or emerging [from it].
I am interested in showing and finding out where paintings can appear in our everyday life. A painting isnt supposed to be on a wall, or locked in a room. They can be anywhere. It doesnt have a fixed locationtraditionally, its only in the last 200 or 300 years that we began to carry paintings around, selling them and hanging them in different locations, which I think is also great.
But a painting can be on a rock, in a church, or on the side of a house. It can be on stamps, or in booksbasically anywhere.
Katharina Grosse, Is It You?, 2020, The Baltimore Museum of Art, USA, Photo: Mitro Hood, courtesy of The Baltimore Museum of Art 2020 Katharina Grosse and VG Bild-Kunst, Bonn, 2020.
How did you come to this realization?
It has never been something that I had to discover. When I first studied painting, I naturally just painted everywhere, on a wall or on a chair, to try things out. I liked these different surfaces and how colors behaved differently: they could manipulate you and change your perceptions of the the materials that youre looking at. A piece of wood does something to the color pink that concrete does not, for example.
In terms of creating installations in museums, like your Hamburger Bahnhof show, I wonder how much the work is aboutfacing off against some of the rules about what is allowed in these spaces.
Yes, the work does have to do with that. As an artist invited to do a show, you see a situation as a person coming from the outside, whether its at an institution or in a certain set of buildings or in an outdoor area. What I very often do is wonder how a painting could live in that space and have the utmost independence. Because then, when people come visit the space, they also experience a sense of independence and encounter the possibility of possibilities.
Instead of trying to fit into the space, I am trying to suggest [spacial] possibilities that you would not see right away. In that sense, I am not looking to break rules, but rather, looking for more possibilities of how space could be.
The qualities of the spaces you work in become more apparent when set against your installations. Youre not just covering them up, but giving them new life, in a sense.
I find that interesting. Sometimes [the work makes the spaces] look even more prominent, like in the Hamburger Bahnhof, where you encounter the steel columns and its very sturdy, strict architecture. The detail of where the old columns meet the exhibition floor, for example, shows two worlds meeting that are not of the same purpose, the same ideology, or the same time, and that all becomes accentuated. I am very interested in the meeting point of paradoxical things.
Katharina Grosse. It Wasnt Us, exhibition view Hamburger Bahnhof Museum fr Gegenwart Berlin, 2020 / Courtesy KNIG GALERIE, Berlin, London, Tokyo / Gagosian / Galerie nchst St. Stephan Rosemarie Schwarzwlder, Wien Katharina Grosse / VG Bild-Kunst, Bonn 2020 / Photo: Jens Ziehe.
Since your work manifests in ambitious installations, I wonder, do you ever feel that you are given limitations that you cannot work with?
If I feel that is the case, then I wont do it. You have a certain thing in mind that is usually the biggest, boldest idea, and you have to go through a couple of steps and look at how it can be done [in reality]. But there are some things that are essential. At the Hamburger Bahnhof, for example, I would not have done the project if I was not allowed to paint outside. That was an important twist.
I am curious about how you navigate your works scale. After doing a large installation, do you feel like you need an even bigger space to challenge yourself further?
The size only matters in relation to what the location needsI am always trying to make the smallest possible version of a large piece. Scale has a very emotional and psychological quality. It is not size that matters to me, but rather how [the work] appears. A very small work can have a similar effect on you psychologically as a very big work in relation to the space its in.
But its true that scale [plays a role]. I use my whole body to make the work. I walk a lot. I work on several paintings at the same time. One of my studios is very large so that I can work on 20 paintings at a time. Sometimes, you cannot even see where one painting stops and the next starts, because everything [blends together] and becomes one painting. The walls are painted. Everything is paintedand it is very exciting to work like that.
Katharina Grosse, o. T., project space, Kunsthalle Bern, 1998. Photo: Michael Fontana; Courtesy: Kunsthalle Bern Katharina Grosse und VG Bild-Kunst, Bonn, 2020.
You are rapidly becoming one of the biggest names in contemporary German painting, which has historically beenand in some ways, still isa very male-dominated field.
It is a very male-dominated field, but so is society. We are very lagging in Germany with this idea of giving perspectives to different speakers and voices and thoughts. It is not to say that the work of white males is rubbish, but half of society should not be excluded from having a say.
I didnt realize the problems of being so dominated by patriarchal thinking until I left art school. The way I grew up and the friends of my parents never gave me that feeling. It was the same during art school and university. Perhaps I was shielded from it, in a way. A lot of my female friends did say to me, though, Hey, are you crazy? Either you go into performative or video art, new fields [primarily dominated by] women. Painting is so overloaded by patriarchal structures. How will you be successful?
Katharina Grosse, This Drove my Mother up the Wall, 2017, South London Gallery, London, UK.
It also must be strange to make work that immerses visitors in a very physical way, given that so much art is being seen and understood online right now.
My work is really about an experience where your body can be stimulated. The screen does not do that. Ones eyes can be stimulated, but the rest of the body remains passive. Yet aspects of the work exist online that you cannot see in the space, too, which I find interesting. The photography shows you something that you cannot see while you are standing there, an experience that is far more particular. I think all the different ways of communicating a work have their own unique impact. The more that is available, the better.
Whats your relationship to abstraction?
I dont see my work as being abstracted from the world. I dont think that a painting puts forward a set of rules that only refers to itself. A painting is an open structure that has to be unfinished so that it can overlap with the world. My central question is: how can a painting appear in the world other than as a canvas on a wall?
I want to suggest a new version of space, and the Hamburger Bahnhof show perhaps shows how that can be done. I understand why you ask about abstraction, though. The term describes something that cannot be named, that isnt represented by something else [already] in existence. You see these large sculptural pieces at Hamburger Bahnhof, and you may say that they look like icebergs or landscapes or shards. Whenever you name them, you also realize that theyre not, in fact, like the things youre comparing them to. You have all these words for them, but you cannot really say what they are.
It is interesting to make visible what cannot be named. But this is not a futurist proposalit already exists. And I think that is kind of a political program [in itself].People walk on the work and become a part of it.
