Your Heat Pump Could Be Dying, Leaving You At The Mercy Of The Weather OutsideAnd Paying Through The Nose For It!

If youve found that your heating has been less efficient and your bills have gone up lately, the most likely culprit is your heat pump. While its one of the most energy-efficient HVAC systems out there, it still ages and needs replacing.

Mechanical systems go through wear and tear, and its only natural for your old faithful heat pump to slowly go from its usual efficient levels of using minimal electricity to create up to four times extra energy. When your heat pump isnt working at its best, you lose heat and hemorrhage money through your bills.

Of courseyou could just leave it as it is and spend more money on continuing to heat your home sub-standardly for extra money. But a repair or installation will save you $$$ in the long run.

At Fulford Heating, we offer heat pump repairs and installation from NATE and HVAC qualified technicians who can help you with all your heat pump needs. From maintenance to repair to installation, our professionals have the knowledge and resources to fix your heat pump and restore it to its former gloryand shave those precious dollars off your electricity bill.

We carry all major heat pump brands at all budgets, including: Carrier, Rheem, Trane and Goodman, as well as parts to repair your heat pump if you dont require an installationafter all, if its broke and you can fix it, fix it!

Architect first - for around $1000 typically you will get site consultation, a few sketches showing what you said you wanted, and a preliminary (by the book) cost estimate - that you can use to figure if your budget or scope of work needs major adjustment. Then, if you go ahead, typically about 10-20% of total project cost for complete plans and specs (including above cost), depending on complexity and level of interior design detail, and if construction inspection services are included.

Generally, nothing is free with an architect - unlike a contractor where a bit of consultation and a rough estimate is a lead-in to the actual work he hopes to get (the construction/repair) and part of his bidding cost, an architect (and engineer) makes his living giving advice and consultation and developing designs and cost estimates - so giving it away for free is sort of like a dentist doing sample fillings for free. Some will come to your house to discuss your concepts for 15-20 minutes for free, basically to see if they want to take you on as a client or feel your job is the type or size they want, but you should expect little or nothing in the way of a design or cost estimate for free - the most you might get would be an opinion on whether it sounds, off the cuff, like your budget is roughly in line with your desired scope of the project.

On more complex or up-scale remodels, it is not unusual to contact several architecture firms and request proposals - where they basically come see the site, then give you a sketch or few or more common today, computer-generated altered photos of your place, showing conceptually what they can do for you, then you choose the one you like the most and go with that one for final design. Typically $500-1000 range fee (each) to get that done for small jobs, larger jobs will typically be no charge but that assumes probably $25-50,000 plus anticipated fees if they get the job.

TLC Basement Remodeling – Serving Maryland, DC and …

    - October 9, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Dear Homeowner:

To remodel or not to remodel your basement. Should I do it myself or hire it out? Should I get the work done or should we just move to a new house? These are the common questions we hear all the time regarding remodeling basements in the Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia area.

The good news is, remodeling your basement does not have to be a painful experience at all on your time, lifestyle or your budget.

TLC Incorporated have been remodeling basements for over 20 years in the Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington DC areas, and we know the specific type of challenges homeowners in our region face. Regardless of who you choose to remodel your basement, make sure that whoever you hire to do your basement remodel has a very good knowledge of the climate and history of how homes have been built in our area.

Perhaps one of the most common questions we get asked is, When I sell my house will I recoup the expense of remodeling my basement? This is a very fair question, and definitely should be considered ultimately when determining a budget for your basement remodel. Here is the latest report on that very subject from the Remodeling Magazines 2013 National Cost Vs. Value Report:

The latest Cost vs. Value Report revealed that basement remodeling projects continue to offer great value, with the typical project recouping 70.3% of costs when the home is sold. And on average, basement remodeling projects add over $43,000 to the sale price of a home.

Unlike invisible costs that are not necessarily recouped when you sell your house, such as a new roof, new carpeting, or replacing a water heater a basement remodel immediately adds livable square footage and the value is fully visible. The next homeowner doesnt have to think about or consider the expense of having it done himself because youve invested in having it done right.

Given the choice of an unfinished basement or a finished basement done right homebuyers are always going to first consider the project being done and paid for, giving you the advantage when its time to sell.

TLC will help you design a practical basement that fits your lifestyle and home, while keeping to your budget.

Call TLC today enter your contact information on the upper right-hand side of this page to receive a free, no-obligation estimate for your basement remodel.

We look forward to talking to you soon!

    Sincerely,

Bob Carr, President of TLC Incorporated

    NJ License #13VH01883400

Choosing a contractor can be a very terrifying, stressful experience, as I have chosen the wrong one in the past!! When planning to have my roof replaced, I obtained many quotes and reviewed many online comments about the various roofers in the area. Based on my research and also through my personal interaction with the contractors I chose Tony Balsamo & Son to do the work on my home. I must say that this has proven to be the most stress free experience due to the professionalism, honesty and craftsmanship that he offers. The job was completed in two days as promised and he did not try to oversell me on materials that I did not need as many contractors try to do. He took the time to talk to me and make me feel secure in my choice of him as a contractor and was not annoyed when I asked him questions as he was doing the work. I would highly recommend Tony and his team to all I know. He took the time to discuss what needed to be done, explained the options, was straightforward and what he promises is exactly what you get. I was exceptionally pleased with his work and confidant that he will stand by his work. I will definitely be calling him when I need any further work done on my home. FIVE BIG STARS FOR TONY AND HIS TEAM. My thanks to you all for the great work that you did but mostly for being a contractor that can be trusted to provide quality work with high standards of integrity. It was a genuine pleasure during business with him.

    ~ Jane K., Hillsborough, NJ

Integrity, Craftsmanship, Exceptional Customer Service - PEACE OF MIND!

    ~ Dr. Mark Landon

Tony Balsamo & Son did an excellent job on my bathroom remodel. They cleaned up every evening, which is good for me as I have a 3 year old running around. They were also quick and efficient which was great because we only have one bathroom. I loved how polite the workers were and how they would make suggestions but wouldn't push me into something I was strongly against. Thank you, Tony Balsamo & Son...my son loves his new bath tub =)

    ~ Melanie

Tony and his team replaced the siding on my home. They did a wonderful job, came on time, and worked efficiently and neatly. I am very pleased with the work and the house looks great! Thanks very much Tony and staff for a great contracting experience. I would definitely use Tony Balsamo & Son for work in the future and recommend him highly.
