West Michigan Roofing & Construction is excited to announce the hiring of Bob Ackerman for the position of Branch Manager for their Kalamazoo office.
The branch, which is the third location for West Michigan Roofing & Construction, opened last winter. The company also has headquarters in Spring Lake and another branch office in Grand Rapids. Ackerman was hired and began his duties in January.
Ackermans new role as Branch Manager is a busy one. He handles in-home sales consulting, project and crew management, and commercial and industrial project management. According to Michael Megna, Owner of West Michigan Roofing & Construction, they hired Ackerman as the result of a referral.
"We found Bob via a referral from a wholesale company in Kalamazoo, said Mr. Megna. They mentioned he was between careers at the moment and working as a builder under his own license."
In addition to six years of experience in the industry working as an insurance claims specialist, he also has extensive experience in project management, and he's a licensed builder. Ackerman is also a former marine and is a father of three. He and his family live in the Kalamazoo area.
West Michigan Roofing & Construction approached Ackerman for the position because they were looking for someone who could manage difficult and complex projects and recognized that he has excellent leadership abilities as well as plenty of general construction knowledge.
"He is well suited for running the Kalamazoo branch which just opened this winter, said Mr. Megna. We thought it would be best to have a physical location out there after conducting so many projects in the area, and Bob lives in the Kalamazoo area and is well suited to handle all aspects of branch responsibilities."

Photoshop maker Adobe Systems Inc reported a lower-than-expected rise in subscriptions for its Creative Cloud software suite and forecast a second-quarter profit that missed the average analyst estimate.
The companys shares fell nearly 4 percent in after-hours trading on Tuesday.
Adobe said it added about 517,000 Creative Cloud subscriptions in the first quarter, compared with the 573,000 net additions that analysts were expecting, according to research firm StreetAccount.
The Creative Cloud offering includes Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash software.
The company forecast an adjusted profit of 41-47 cents per share for the second quarter, below the average analyst estimate of 48 cents, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Adobes revenue forecast of $1.13 billion-$1.18 billion was also largely below the average analyst estimate of $1.18 billion.
If you go back and look at the last several quarters, they have given conservative revenue and earnings guidance and tend to end up beating what that lower bar is, FBR Capital Markets analyst Samad Samana said.
Adobe is switching from traditional box licenses to web-based subscriptions for its Creative Cloud software bundle to help attract more predictable recurring revenue. Online subscriptions let customers access the latest software versions for a monthly payment.
Earlier on Tuesday, Adobe unveiled the Document Cloud, which includes Acrobat DC, a new subscription service for PDF editing software Acrobat.
