Clean-Slate Janitorial Services, Torontos Leading Commercial and Retail Cleaner, Announces Complimentary First …

    - February 25, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

    (PRWEB) February 25, 2015

Clean-Slate Janitorial Services (http://www.Clean-Slate.ca) a Greater Toronto Area-based professional cleaning company that specializes in commercial office cleaning, retail maintenance, floor restoration, carpet cleaning, and construction site cleanup, is announcing its winter promotion available to new clients.

With the Greater Toronto Area well into the middle of winter, Clean-Slate Janitorial Services is excited to be offering a new promotion. For this promotion, new clients will receive a complimentary first cleaning and up to 25% off of their first month of following cleanings

This is a deal a business or property owner just cant pass up, says Sam Panousis, owner and operator of Clean-Slate Janitorial Services. If someone has never had office cleaning services done by professionals, then this is the opportunity to give it a chance and see just how much cleaner the office will look.

Panousis explains that keeping the office or commercial building clean should be a priority, especially during the winter months when snow, slush, and salt are dragged onto the floors. Thats because people make initial impressions about a business based solely on the look and cleanliness.

Its also important from a safety issue and, in extreme cases, a health issue, he adds. A clean office space really goes a long way and says a lot about ones business.

This promotion will only last the duration of the winter, so those companies interested in taking advantage of this offer needs to act now, Panousis concludes. Well keep this offer going as long as the weather is cold, but if the groundhog is any real indication, winter may end soon.

Clean-Slate Janitorial Services encourages businesses looking to hire janitorial companies in the GTA to visit http://www.Clean-Slate.ca and take advantage of this limited-time offer.

Tracks add barriers after Busch crash

    - February 25, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

Kyle Busch, center, is taken to an ambulance on a stretcher after he was involved in a multi-car crash during the XFINITY Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday.

The aftereffects of Kyle Buschs violent crash into an inside concrete retaining wall at Daytona International Speedway last weekend continued to ripple through the industry Tuesday, with two major track operators announcing plans to do more to protect drivers.

International Speedway Corp., the parent company of Daytona International Speedway and 12 other tracks, announced it is developing a significant plan for the installation of additional impact-absorbing technologies including but not limited to SAFER barriers (Steel and Foam Energy Reduction).

The announcement came just hours after Busch, 29, was released from Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach on a stretcher and flown to a hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Busch had surgery at Halifax on Saturday night after suffering a compound fracture of his right leg and a fracture to his left foot when his No. 54 Toyota slammed into a section of wall without SAFER barriers during an Xfinity Series race.

His injuries prompted an immediate call for enhanced safety measures from drivers, fans and others, who stated they couldnt understand why all tracks werent already protected by shock-absorbing systems, such as the SAFER barriers.

ISCs plan will begin with its two superspeedways, Daytona and Talladega, ISC President John Saunders said in Tuesdays statement.

We will utilize all available tools to ensure the safety of the drivers and our fans. It will remain our top priority.

A thorough review of our other ISC facilities will continue with the focus to prioritize each tracks most critical areas first, Saunders stated. This includes but is not limited to our upcoming races at Phoenix International Raceway and Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

Atlanta Motor Speedway also announced it would expand its use of impact-absorbing barriers this week, before all three major NASCAR series are scheduled to race on Saturday and Sunday.

Royal Caribbean's newest Oasis-class ship to become world's largest

    - February 25, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

The biggest cruise ships in the world are getting a bigger sister next year, and Royal Caribbean has given her a name, Harmony of the Seas.

"We are orchestrating a medley of new exciting concepts with the best Royal Caribbean innovations to strike the perfect chord for adventurous vacationers. That is why we are calling our third Oasis-class ship Harmony of the Seas," said Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley.

The Harmony of the Seas will be just slightly larger than the line's two other Oasis-class ships, the Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, which both sail out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. Harmony will be 227,000 gross registered tons, which is 1,718 tons larger than the two earlier vessels. The line says the ship will hold 5,479 passengers at double occupancy in 2,747 staterooms, which is 41 more staterooms than either older ship.

Currently under construction at the STX France shipyards in Saint Nazaire, France, just where the 16-deck vessel will debut in April 2016 will be revealed in March, as will the home port of Royal Caribbean's third Quantum-class ship under construction, the Ovation of the Seas, which is also due in April 2016.

Fort Lauderdale was originally named the home port for the line's newest ship coming to market, the Anthem of the Seas, coming this April. That ship recently got its first taste of water at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenberg, Germany. But with the growing market in China, Royal Caribbean changed itineraries to send Quantum of the Seas, which debuted last fall, to sail 3-to 5-night cruises from a variety of Asian ports, which caused a shuffle that will send Anthem of the Seas to Cape Liberty to serve the New York market.

"South Florida specifically as being the No. 1 cruise sourcing in the market, it only behooves any cruise company to have their latest greatest ship sailing from South Florida," said Stewart Chiron, known at the Cruise Guy.

Whether that means Miami or Port Everglades will get either of Royal Caribbean's ships due in 2016 remains to be seen.

As far as Harmony of the Seas goes, it will be similar to the lines Oasis-class ships with features like Central Park, which has real trees and grass in the middle of the ship. What's new on Harmony, though, will be three water slide that will hang out over Central Park 10 decks below. One of those slide will feature a bowl feature that lets riders swirl around before sliding out a hole in the middle before exiting the ride.

The line often takes concepts from its newer ships to roll out in new designs, as well as retrofit older ships when they go into drydock. That notion means there will be more robot bartenders at sea as the Bionic Bar, which debuted on Quantum of the Seas, will also be aboard the Harmony.

As far as accommodations, virtual balconies will be installed in inside staterooms offering an ocean view of sorts, while single cruisers will have studio options. Those ponying up for suites will get more exclusive areas including a private lounge, sun deck and their own restaurant called Coastal Kitchen.

Knox County clerk cites 'toxic mold' in request to move

    - February 25, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Knox County Clerk Foster Arnett Jr. has filed suit against the Public Building Authority over "toxic mold" in his courthouse office.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1EMMNxk) reports Arnett's lawyer, Darren Berg, said Monday that he asked the court make PBA move Arnett and his 64 workers to a safe location while mold "testing and remediation" take place.

The lawsuit says a window restoration project at the courthouse in 2012 released "mold spores, toxic mold spores and/or other toxins" that created a "hazardous environment" causing medical problems for Arnett and his staff.

PBA Director Dale Smith declined to comment.

Knox County Law Director Richard "Bud" Armstrong also declined to discuss litigation against the county, but he said the law department would review the complaint and file and response within 60 days.

Advocacy group pushes town to reduce nitrogen pollution

    - February 25, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

Wastewater management advocacy group Defend H2O is urging the Southold Town Board to follow in the footsteps of Brookhaven Town and adopt more stringent sewer discharge regulations.

Board members, however, say Brookhavens law may not be the solution for Southold.

During Tuesday mornings Town Board work session, Kevin McAllister, founder of Defend H2O and former Peconic Baykeeper, continued his push for East End towns to enact regulations similar to Brookhavens, which are aimed at reducing nitrogen pollution associated with sewer systems.

High nitrogen levels in area waters have been feeding harmful algal blooms the red tide the area sees each summer which in turn have damaged the local ecosystem by depriving water bodies of oxygen. As a result, area fisheries have suffered.

Supervisor Scott Russell said Mr. McAllisters proposal has merit, but said the law wouldnt address Southold Towns primary source of nitrogen discharge: septic systems and cesspools serving single-family dwellings.

Under Brookhavens law, which passed in January, existing buildings within the Carmans River watershed have 10 years to replace or upgrade their systems to comply with stricter regulations three parts per million of nitrogen for structures generating 1,000 to 3,000 gallons of flow per day and require new businesses in the same watershed to install them upon construction, Mr. McAllister said.

Single-family homes average 350 to 500 gallons of flow per day, so they would not be affected by the stricter regulations, he said. Since Southold Town comprises mainly single-family dwellings, Mr. Russell said the town would need to research the proposal further before moving forward.

The problem Southold has with nitrogen loading is: How do we retrofit a community of 11,000 houses? Mr. Russell said after the meeting. Southolds real challenge isnt new development, it is existing buildings. Basically what [Mr. McAllister] has proposed, which is a sound idea, would pertain in most instances to new development or construction.

With development projects including a proposed senior living community called the Heritage at Cutchogue in the works, Mr. McAllister said any step the town takes to strengthen its septic discharge standards is a move in the right direction.

Putnam father arrested after sons forced to sleep outside

    - February 25, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

A 33-year-old Crescent City man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of cruelty to a child after his 7- and 8-year-old sons were hit and forced to sleep on porches outside their Browns Fish Camp Road home, according to the Putnam County Sheriffs Office.

Jose Dolores Rodriguez is in jail on no bail, according to the Sheriffs Office.

Deputies were called to Middleton Burney Elementary School at 10 a.m. in reference to a child-abuse complaint and found that a 7-year-old boy had come to school with a bruise on his face, the Sheriffs Office said. The boys 8-year-old brother told teachers that their father had slapped each of them three to four times in the face for arguing, then forced one to sleep on the front porch and the other on the back porch, the Sheriffs Office said. Overnight temperatures dipped into the low 50s in that area, according to forecasts.

The father was questioned by detectives, then arrested, the Sheriffs Office said.
