JP Concrete has been supplying precast products to the agricultural and construction markets since 2007 and currently has its main plant based in Derby and has sales offices located in Sussex and Devon.

Our agricultural products cover a large range of applications including; silage clamps, slurry stores, grain stores, livestock buildings and slurry channel systems. Prestressed concrete panels are normally used horizontally and placed against or within the web of a steel column. They can be used vertically (vertical cantilever wall panels) which is useful in applications such as slurry stores where it is advantageous not to have steels exposed to the slurry.

Our construction products are used in a wide variety of applications including; precast retaining walls, storage bays, salt barns, waste and recycling, warehouse cladding, flood defence, king post walls, fire and blast walls and concrete bund walling. As well as the main products, we also manufacture ballast blocks and kentledge blocks.

Our security products include a range of barriers measuring 1500mm to 3000mm long. We also offer these products on a weekly hire basis.

Walls along NW 16th Ave. to get needed attention

    - February 23, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Published: Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 10:48 p.m. Last Modified: Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 10:48 p.m.

The Northwest 16th Avenue project continues to generate emails, including one from Rebecca Howard regarding a retaining wall on the north side of the road just west of 24th Street.

Howard wanted to know why the wall is remaining in place despite its having chunks of concrete missing. Considering the time, tax dollars, and inconvenience that has gone into this project, one would think that this portion of deteriorating wall could be replaced as other portions have been.

Brian Singleton of Alachua County Public Works said the wall will be repaired by cutting the damaged area back to the reinforcing steel and replacing the areas with a concrete epoxy material.

Eleven other locations along the corridor will be repaired via the same method, Singleton said in an email.

Keep Alachua County Beautiful (KACB) has contacted the county regarding painting all the walls on the corridor so they have a consistent finish; the County will work will KACB to schedule the painting once construction is completed. The two walls that required replacement could not be repaired while maintaining their structural integrity.

A couple of readers wrote in recently with a suggestions and an observation.

Mike Cataldo of Lake City often comes to Gainesville on Saturday mornings to visit the farmers market off U.S. 441 and 34th Street.

But the market can be difficult to find from some because overgrown vegetation blocks the sign for it, he said, suggesting some trimming.

Speedway to expand SAFER barriers after Kyle Busch crash

    - February 23, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

    Published: Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:03 p.m. Last Modified: Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 1:09 a.m.

Kyle Busch will not race in today's Daytona 500 after fracturing his right leg in a violent crash into a concrete retaining wall during Saturday's Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway, a crash that led Speedway President Joie Chitwood III to say the Speedway did not live up to its responsibility today.

Chitwood, who was visibly shaken, said Saturday night that a temporary tire barrier would line the 850-foot stretch of concrete wall for today's 500.

He said steel and foam energy reduction (SAFER) barriers would be added to every possible contact point around the 2.5-mile tri-oval before NASCAR returns in July.

We should have had a SAFER barrier there today; we did not, Chitwood said. We're going to fix that. We're going to fix that right now. We don't want to see any competitors injured here. We have to fix that. We can't allow this to happen again.

Busch, 29, was stabilized by Speedway medics at the crash site, then transported by ambulance to Halifax Health Medical Center for treatment.

Busch sustained a compound fracture of the right lower leg and was in surgery Saturday night, according to a statement from Joe Gibbs Racing team.

He also suffered a midfoot fracture of his left foot in the wreck.

Busch's injuries will sideline him for an undetermined period of time, the release said. Veteran Matt Crafton will serve as the interim driver for Busch's No. 18 Toyota for the Daytona 500. Crafton is a two-time NASCAR Truck Series champion.

Gibbs Racing said an interim driver has not been determined for any Cup races beyond Daytona.

Decks cleared for permanent dumping yard for Ongole

    - February 23, 2015 by Mr HomeBuilder

Burning of garbage on the margins of the Chennai-Kolkata will be a thing of the past with the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APCB) giving its nod for locating a waste disposal facility at Guthikondavaripalem on the city outskirts.

    Biodegradable waste

A permanent solution to solid waste disposal had remained elusive for decades in the city which generated about 120 tonnes of waste, half of the waste being bio-degradable, as people of different colonies went to court against the sites selected by the civic body from time to time for locating a dumping yard.

Elated over the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Boards green signal to the civic bodys proposal, Telugu Desam Party MLA from Ongole D. Janardhana Rao said, From now we will move all garbage generated in the city to the 4.50 acre site near Koppolu for scientific disposal. A beautiful park will be developed at Uracheruvu, he added.

This is a good beginning to achieve Swachh Ongole, Municipal Commissioner S. Venkatakrishna added.

Cleaning of the roads including Trunk road and Kurnool road in the city with a population of over 2.7 lakh, apart from a floating population of another 60,000 a day would be done during night from next month, the MLA said.

    Pollution

Allaying the fears of Gothikondavaripalem people over air and water pollution, Mr. Venkatakrishna said that from now garbage, now dumped by the highway and also at Uracheruvu, would be disposed of in a scientific manner by putting a geo-membrane sheet to avoid pollution.

    Land identified

We have identified another 14 acres of land elsewhere for safe disposal of solid waste keeping in view future needs, the MLA said.
